Future Scripture Thought
I know I am skipping ahead along my normal path of scriptural thoughts, but this one has been on my mind a great deal as of late. I was reading in Mosiah, chapter 2, verses 5 and 6.
If you want to take a few minutes to read those verses, that it great. While you are doing so, I am going to continue in my thoughts. It seems that as of late we go from one extreme to another.
For example, Tall Man recently came home from an evening out and went directly to Tenor Man's room. They spent a long period of time just talking. We finally had to make them go to bed.
On the other side, I over hear conversations of things like, I will never bring anyone who I am serious about until I know that they can withstand the rudeness of this family.
Or I have heard others say that they wish the relationship was better, but things have changed. They are so obnoxious, annoying, rude, or immature.
I have witnessed siblings practicing voice or band together. I have seen the efforts of all family members doing all that is possible to make a date night incredible and then on the other side, they do all they can to make it miserable. Why is that?
So, here we are reading these verses. Have you had a chance to read them yet. All the families gathered to the temple. Do you think there was fighting, bickering, feuding, or lack of cooperation? Or do you think they helped each other set up their tents, took care of each other, shared times around the cooking fire and more?
Note that all the doors were pointed to the temple. They looked to the Lord. They looked forward to the gathering.
Remember, it does not matter what happens in life, we will always be family. I hope we can work to make that bond stronger. I would hope we could make the time we have together more memorable. Think about it.
