Simple Snippets
It has been an interesting week. I must be honest, though I have studied, pondered, and prayed, I have had hard time remaining focused on any one given thing. Interestingly enough, the paragraph I chose to ponder this week was from Book of Mormon Intro paragraph 8. We are invited to ponder in our hearts the message it contains. There have been so many thoughts to ponder, it is hard to just focus on one.
So let me share some snippets:
- Great lessons from Sacrament Meeting today:
We are not asked to run the mile at a sprinters pace. We are just asked to finish the mile.
It is what YOU make it!
Sometimes we have to endure things we don't like to get to the sweet treats in the end.
- Dinner conversation with friends:
What is the intent of your inquiry? Is it so you can make it all about you or is it because you genuinely are and want to help make a difference? This made me think about "losing oneself in the service of others". Take a moment to ponder your interactions with others, listen, learn, see how you can help.
- From Sunday School reading this week:
"...remembering the captivity of our fathers; for they were in bondage, and none could deliver them except it was the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob;..." Who has not been in this boat? When has God not been there? Who has not been in bondage? We all make silly mistakes. From Adam to present day. There is not one person who has not had need to rely upon the saving graces and mercies of God. However, in remembering those who have been delivered, they all had to ask. They had to sincerely petition our Father in Heaven before he intervenes.
- Priesthood Lesson this week:
WOW! Review section 2 of chapter 13. There is more to it than just the simple questions asked in the recommend interview. How can we answer them if we are not seeking further light and knowledge all the time.
- Ensign thoughts:
Many of us have the faith to be healed, but do we have the faith not to be healed? Are we willing to give ourselves to all the Lord my ask of us?
Just some thoughts.
It has been a good week. This weekend, I had the opportunity to spend some time with family trying to Eskape! It was fun. My mind has been reeling with thoughts and ideas ever since. Sometimes I wish I had the gumption to follow.
The Queen has been busy catching up after a week of camp. She has started focusing on the next adventure and nesting at the same time.
The Professor has a new adventure every day. She survived each one of them this week.
We had the opportunity to share in Tall Man and Ehl-Bo's adventure this week. They both did an incredible job. I really like hearing them together. There were several numbers where they performed alone, and did a wonderful job, but I really enjoyed the duets. True Harmonies.
SnackPack wrapped up his summer adventure and is preparing now for the next big adventure. We hope to hear how his weekend went and look forward to the next.
Take the snippet that moves you and go with it for a few, then move on to the next.
