Post It, Quote It, Say It, Live It

Good Morning -

I am trying something a little different this week.  I don't know that it will become a pattern, but I thought it was worth a try.  Sunday afternoon/evenings seem to fill up with other stuff as of late and then I feel rushed to post.  I woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning and this week's verses of pondering were on my mind, so I thought I would just post.

This week is a repeater.  It must be important.  It is a verse of scripture we see all the time and is probably quoted more by the Christian world than most.

John 3:16-17

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

"For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

We hear it quoted, we see it posted, but do we really take time to think about it?  Do we take time to apply it?  I know I have pondered these verses several times.  My pondering may be the same as before.  I guess I need to apply it more in my life.

First and foremost, "...God so loved the world...".  I know this.  I cannot deny the love I have felt and seen from Him in my life.  I wish I could say that I experience this love each time I kneel in prayer, but I don't.  Why?  Because I am not always sincere in my prayers and actions.  I am working on that.

This leads me right into the second stand out for me, "...he gave...".  Our Father in Heaven is always giving.  The question is, am I receiving?  Am I returning the loving gifts that He gives to me?  Am I showing or giving the respect, appreciation, and value of worthy of His love?

I was reminded a couple times this week as I met with youth organization that I need to do more.  The theme for our youth this year is John 14:15

"If ye love me, keep my commandments".

It is that simple.  How do we receive this glorious gift?  We keep His commandments.

That does not mean just The 10 Commandments, but all that He commands.  We cannot know what He commands unless we are honestly making an effort to know Him or "...believeth in him...".  We believe by doing.

In my studies this week I came across a quote form Bruce R. McConkie that struck a nerve with me.

"Obedience is the first law of heaven.  All progression, all perfection, all salvation, all godliness, all that is right and just and true, all good things come to those who live the laws of Him who is Eternal.  There is nothing in all eternity more important than to keep the commandments of God"

There you have it.  That is all that is asked of us, return his Love, Believe in Him, and Keep His commandments.  How did Elder Uchtdorf  say it in his last conference?  Believe, Love, Do.

The rest of these verses are promises to us.

"...will not perish..."

"...have everlasting life..."

"...might be saved..."

I invite you to to Receive the Gift of Christ, His only begotten Son.  Make room for Him in your life.  Believe in His Atoning sacrifice.  Return His Love by being obedient and keeping/living His commandments.

Our week -

Well, it was pretty mundane.  Nothing huge to report on our front.  That may change in the coming days, but right now we are just living.  Sleep, Eat, Work, (read), Eat, Sleep, not always in that order and some of us more than others.

The Queen did a little training over the net and was invited to participate in this years company initiative again.  She will be back on the road soon.

The Professor is adapting to just leading the classroom as opposed to being in the classroom at the same time.  She has taken on a new endeavor.  It has not been as fruitful as she would like it to be, but she cannot deny that some fruit is starting to bud.  We will see what kinds the tree produces.

We dropped in on Tall Man and Ehl-Bo early this week.  They are doing well.  Tall Man is enjoying the off time from rehearsals and enjoying the performances.  Ehl-Bo is returning to better health and capitalizing on the energy.

It has been quiet on the Puddin and Lady Hawkins front.  We hope they are staying warm way up in the north country.  They were with us last weekend and doing their best to adjust to new work and class schedules.  They are hoping to find a good routine that works for them.

SnackPack started a new job adventure.  Reports are that he is doing well.  He is excited about the possibilities.  He and Songbird have been in and out of the area this weekend.  It sounds like their new classes are going well.  The adjustment to new routine has been fun for them as well.

Me?  I have just been hanging out.  Work is busy.  I am trying to change up my routine so I can say I am adjusting as well, but it is pretty much the same old thing.  We will see what tomorrow brings.

I love you all.

Cheerios.
