He Is!

Well, the hustle and bustle of Christmas and New Year's has past.  We are all digging in to prepare for the routines of 2021.  I must admit that I have been easily distracted from posting.  Though I have been pondering a great deal, it has not been part of my planned schedule.  I won't make promises, but I am going to resolve to do better.  I love how the Lord reminds me of things I need to do better at through those I meet with.  I am truly blessed.

My pondering schedule brings me to a well known set of verses, 1 Kings 19:11-12:

"And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord.  And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:"

"And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice."

2020 has been a year filled with all of these and much more.  How many have questioned the mercy and grace of God when enduring such?  These verses do not mention, hungry, unemployment, homelessness, pandemic, death, divisiveness, and political tensions, yet there are many who look for Him in all that has happened and question why.

As I ponder the events described and reflect upon my own experiences, I am reminded that He comes after they have passed.  Isn't that the pattern that has long been established?  His tender mercies come after the trials of our faith.   Do we hear Him?  Do we see Him?  Do we feel Him?  or do we get so distracted by the events and questioning that we drown Him out?

I invite you to stop, see, feel, and listen; He is there.
