Seriously, Hear Him!
Happy Mother's Day!
I hope all women everywhere are being treated special today.
How has the week been? What new adventures did you have this past week? What have you learned? What have you decided you are going to learn?
Our week has been filled with many new and exciting adventures. Some of them are fun, some of them are a little scary, but we are taking them one day at a time.
I love this verse of pondering this week: 2 Nephi 31:14
"But, behold, my beloved brethren, thus came the voice of the Son unto me, saying: After ye have repented of your sins, and witnessed unto the Father that ye are willing to keep my commandments, by the baptism of water, and have received the baptism of fire and the Holy Ghost, and can speak with a new tongue, yea, even with the tongue of angels, and after this should deny me, it would have been better for you that ye had not known me."
Lets focus on the first part more than the last, unless you find yourself fitting the descriptions mentioned, then I would suggest you go back and apply the steps outlined in the first part.
"...thus came the voice of the Son unto me..."
Last week we pondered the personal witness that Nephi had received from the Holy Ghost, now the voice of the Son comes unto him. Isn't this amazing? Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, not only knows us, but speaks to us. He comes to us with our best interest in mind. He leads us, guides us, and helps us know what we must do to obtain eternal life.
I have pondered over and over again the things that he asks us to do. In reality, this is all that he asks of us.
Repent. He wants us to change those things in our lives that distances us from our Father. The things that we need to change may be big or small, the important thing is that we are striving to align ourselves with the will of our Heavenly Father.
Witness that we are willing to keep his, Jesus Christ, commandments. These are the steps we should follow, the things we should do, the will of the Father for our benefit.
Baptism of Water. As I have pondered these things man times, I fully believe that it means that we should not only be baptized as he was, but bring the sacrifice and change of our contrite spirit and heart each week the alter of the Holy Sacrament. Here we renew our covenants and commit to do better.
Receive the Baptism of Fire and the Holy Ghost. The promise of always having his spirit to be with us. Here is the promised blessings if we will but strive to keep his commandments.
As we do so, we will find the disposition to speak differently. We will speak as though we were angels standing in the courts of Heaven. The promised changes that will come into our lives.
Isn't this what President Nelson has been asking us to do? Hear Him!
I invite you all to do these things. Prepare your heart, your mind, and your soul to hear the voice of the Son.
Our week -
The Queen has been busy. She continues to serve the community while trying to complete several different projects around the house.
The Professor welcomed her new arrival. I like to call him Gus Gus, but we will see if it sticks.
Tall Man, Ehl-Bo, and Lego had visited a couple times this week. It has been fun to keep up on the happenings of their lives and see the changes that seem to happen every day with Lego.
I had a chance to visit with Puddin the other day. It sounds like they are plugging along. Lady Hawkins is preparing for another level of certification. We have added prayer for her success to our daily routine. The took Rio on a mountainous adventure this week. I am glad they did not come in contact with any stinkers.
SnackPack opened a new door in his adventures this week. We are excited to see what comes of it. It been watching the evolution of the path he is on.
Life is crazy, plain and simple. I pray that all are safe and healthy.
