Pure Exhaustion
We left off late last night getting the boys and their friends home. It was a crazy long night. Crawling into bed felt sublime.
Morning came early. We were up and going soon after 7. The Queen thought it would be fun to invite one of the sons of Aaron to the temple to do baptisms. Tall Man did not have a current recommend of his own, so we invited Tenor Man. It was well worth the experience. There was a group of 28 young women in front of us, but we were able to spend some quiet time just sitting, pondering, and serving in the temple.
The rest of the day was spent driving from one store to another. It has been long and tiring. The Queen is still going strong. I don't know how she does it. I am ready to crash now. However, I feel that I need to sit back and reflect upon the day.
While out and about, we came across a family that has struggled with their membership in organized religion. We talked about where our families were and what was going on in our lives. The Queen then remembered that we needed to get baby wipes. This was strange for our friends to hear. Their first reaction was to ask if we had a baby in the house. We explained to them that we had learned the value of Huggies Baby wipes while serving in the temple. They remove red blood stains.
Suddenly, there was a little bit of silence. It has been a long time since this family has been to the temple. In fact, I don't think the child they had with them has ever been to the temple. I started wondering if they miss that. Sometimes, I long for the peace that I have while serving in the temple. I can't imagine not being able to find that place. I strive to build a home where that kind of peace exists. We are not there, but we are truly enjoying the building process.
I just wanted you to know how much I value the temples of God upon this earth. The teachings, we receive there, come in the form of personal revelation. I learn more and more each time I go. I strive to go as often as I can. I love the peaceful communication that comes while in his house. I encourage each of you to find, make, and enjoy that time for yourselves.
Good Night
