List the Precepts

Greetings All,

Not much to report this week.  It has just been one of those lazy, slow moving, summer weeks, for most of us.  We did have a small moving thunder storm roll over the mountains yesterday, but nothing really to shout at.  I guess it did close the pool down. I always find that interesting.  By the time they get everyone out, cleaned up, locked up, buttoned down, and out the gate, the storm was gone, the sun was up, and it was a beautiful evening.  I understand the safety and such, but it is still crazy.  They need to put a cover over that thing.

The Queen is busy planning and prepping for Girls camp.  That is what she does when she is not working.  At work, she conducted several training classes.  I am surprised how many offices she is training for.

The Professor spent the week in the classroom. Yep, she is back at it.  The kids came in on Tuesday, the parents on Wednesday, and the fun has begun.  I had a discussion with her as she drove home on Thursday or Friday that I have never had with her.  It wasn't how can I help them understand, but how can I challenge them with this concept.  I need to make it real world for them.  It is a new adventure.

Tall Man and Ehl-Bo - Where are you?  I know we saw you around last weekend, but miss seeing your smiling faces or hearing your cheery voices.  I think this weekend was Youth Production at the Empress and we are just a couple weeks a way from production at Benson Mills.

SnackPack has been riding the waves.  He is counting down the days before the water is drained.  I think we are at 20 now.  I think there will be a last Hurrah in there before the school year starts up again.

So that is what has been happening around here.  I know that we our world travelers all made it home safe.   Gram and Gramps from the East.  The Chicken Farmers from the West.  The Truck Haulers from the North.  We are glad they are all safe and sound.

I guess if that is all you came for, you can stop reading now.  To delve into my thoughts, continue reading.  My pondering has been upon Paragraph 6 of the Book of Mormon, most specific, the last few words, "...by abiding by its precepts..."  For the past several weeks we have been discussing a talk given by Elder Bednar in our Ward Council.  I think I have mentioned it before.  For our 5th Sunday, Bish made it the focus of our discussion.

So, here are my thoughts:

What are the precepts found in the Book of Mormon?  Yep, I am asking for a list.  I want to hear from you.  Send me a list of all the precepts you can think of.  I have started compiling my own, but I want to know what you think is there.

Are you abiding by them?

If you don't have a list, I was invite you to start one.  I invite those who have not look for them to start.  IF you desire to understand your standing, your origins, your purpose, I would invite you to search.  I promise that you will not find them among the precepts of men.  But I know you will if you seek the precepts of God.
Once you have started, I would encourage you to take the next step.  Abide by them.  This is often the hardest part.  What I have learned is that once you start Abiding, you will be amazed to learn that there are more precepts you never recognized before.  That is the way His plan works.  "...little by little, line upon line..."  He does not "water board" you with His teaching.  He quenches your thirst each time you come to Him.  Don't ever stop coming to Him.

I look forward to your list.

Until next time...
