What do you know?

Greetings All,

For some, it has been a short week, for others, it has been a long week.  I think I found myself in the middle. It is kind of strange for us.  Some of us worked on the holiday, some took the entire week off, others worked a little and played a lot, then there are those who did not have to work, but filled their days with projects all related to work.  Which ever category you found yourself in, I hope it was enjoyable.

My thoughts this week have trailed off of last week's events.  For some reason the words "crowning event", keeps coming into my head.  Can you think of crowning events in your life?  This week, the Queen and I will celebrate the anniversary of one of our crowning events.  Last week, we were able to share one of those crowning events with Tall Man and Ehl-Bo.

In the coming weeks, we will celebrate another anniversary of a crowning moment in Tall Man's life.  I don't know that he remembers much of that day, but it was a great one in my life.  The more I think of it, maybe not so much a crowning moments, but a day where we were able to add a jewel to our crowns.  I am sure if we stop and think about it, there have been several such moments/events in our lives.

But one in particular has been on my mind as of late.  It came up again for me yesterday in Sacrament Meeting.  One of the speakers shared a story of a dream.  In the dream, the individual had died and was waiting for an interviewer at the Golden Gates.  After several hours, they were invited into and room where the interviewer asked, "Can you tell me what you know about Jesus Christ?"  The interviewee, gave the typical Sunday School answers:

"He is the Son of God", "He is our Savior", "He is the Creator of Heaven and Earth".  They went on to tells stories of His life and such, but through out the interview, the interviewer would say, "These are all true statements, but what do you know about Jesus Christ?"

It has made me think.  One of my pondering thoughts this week has been from the Introduction to the Book of Mormon.  In Paragraph 3, it start with, "The crowning event recorded in the Book of Mormon is the personal ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ..."  As I listened to this story in Sacrament Meeting, I was drawn to the thought of, if asked, how would the individuals who were present at the time of His coming would have answered the same question?  I began to wonder if I have developed such an intimate relationship with Him?  Would I know Him if He were to come to me?  Would I recognize His works?  Do I see His hand in my life?  How can I better develop such a relationship?

If you continue reading paragraph 3, I come to understand how I can develop this relationship, how I can gain this knowledge of Him.  It is that He taught, what He requires of me, what He has sacrificed on my behalf, it is what He wants for me.  I know He wants the same for you.

I encourage you to all to take the time to reflect on such matters.  Not just casually, not every once in a while, but on a daily basis.  Make Him as much a part of your life as He wants us to be a part of His.  He is there.  The invitations have never been rescinded.  "Come unto me"  "Come Follow Me"  "Come and See"

Well, there you go, another image of the working of my mind.

As I was saying it has been a slow week.

The Queen has been changing gears.  She had worked herself into controlled chaos last week as we prepared for a wedding.  This week, she tried to take it easy.  She caught up on some of her favorite Netflix, started "Nesting" around the house, and by the end of the week was focusing on the next event.

The Professor, has slowed down a little, but not much.  Her mind is working a million miles a minute as she plans, prepares, and develops lessons and activities in her head for the coming school year.

Tall Man and Ehl-Bo, spent the week roaming the earth.  All reports indicated they had a wonderful time together, returned safely to their abode, and should be starting back to REAL life today.

SnackPack took us on an adventure this week.  We had fun walking/climbing a new trail around the cottonwoods.  Because of the holiday week, most lessons were cancelled, so he did not have as much opportunity to work as he would have liked.  By the time the weekend came around, he was filling his evening hours chasing Pokemon.  Luckily, he did not find any dead bodies, did not cause any accidents, and to our knowledge, was fairly safe in his hunting with friends.

Have a great week!
