Who are They?
"They are they who are the church of the Firstborn."
As many of you know, this has been on my mind a great deal as of late. We have talked about it in our ward Priesthood meetings. I have been thinking about those who truly have taken upon them the name of the Firstborn, who strive to live His gospel to the fullest, who are continually repenting as they traverse mortality and trying to make those changes that will lead them to God the Father.
This week, my pondering comes from D&C 76:54-59.
The verses continue, "...they are they into whose hands the Father has given all things - " I know that I do not have all things; and when I say "things", I am not talking materially. I have so much more to learn and gain. Yet when I read these words I am taken to the blessings and promises made by President Nelson in the most recent conference addresses. Have you thought about them? How many blessings did he leave upon the people of the church? How many of us have made the changes to benefit of these blessings?
I ponder the encouragement and admonition to better understand and bless the lives of others through the priesthood. When I read these words, it is those individuals who are exercising the faith in the power of the priesthood who are receiving "...all things..." I have much room for improvement.
I want to be among the "...priests and kings..." I want to "...receive of his fullness, and of his glory..." I believe this is what President Nelson was helping us do through his blessings and admonitions.
I desire to be recognized as one of "...the sons of God..." I want to be heir with Christ, to be His and His Father's.
Such a powerful message of inspiration. I hope you find your own inspiration in the same verses.
Our week has been back to the norm.
The Queen and I worked each day. It has been super busy. When we were not working, we have spent time test driving, car shopping, apartment gathering, and more in anticipation of SnackPack heading off to school in a couple weeks.
The Professor completed another semester of her graduate program and is now giving most of her time to planning the school year before the next semester starts. The juggling act continues.
Tall Man and Ehl-Bo stopped by briefly yesterday. They are both thinking about change and taking advantage of opportunities placed before them. We hope they are able to capitalize, learn, and grow from them.
Puddin and Lady Hawkins have been super busy with work, work, and more work. Puddin has one more final to take before the semester is over. We know he is working hard to make it happen.
SnackPack has been making adjustments to being home and preparing for the next adventure. He spent many hours driving back and forth between the vales either attending college orientations or job hunting. He has been successful in both areas. Now he just needs some wheels. He has a plan in place.
I am sure it is not a surprise, but we saw more of Songbird this week. She is doing much of the same thing SnackPack is doing, but she has a job and they are giving her work. Life is busy from so many angles.
