Working today to get to the morrow

Yep, I am still alive.  I know it has been a couple of weeks since I last updated anything, but it has been kinda busy.  I feel like we have been on the road for weeks, but it has only been a couple.

So, where do I begin?

I have have been pondering so many things of late that it is hard to just narrow it down to a set of verses.  On my pondering board in front of me, I have D&C 76:60-65.  This is almost a continuation of the last post I sent "Who Are They"

"...they shall overcome all things...", "...shall dwell in the presence of God and his Christ...", "...whom he will bring with him, when he shall come in the clouds of heaven to reign on earth...", "...who shall have part in the first resurrection...", "...who shall come forth in the resurrection of the just..."

There are lots of cool things mentioned here, places and things I would really like to be a part of, but sometimes the moments we live in make it hard to see ourselves participating in any one of these above mentioned opportunities.  Do you ever feel that way?  Do you ever wonder what am I doing?  Where am I going?  Am I doing what I need to do?

I have also been pondering President Nelson's challenge to the youth of the church.  The more I think about it, if we are caught up on these types of questions, it would be hard to see ourselves completing or participating in his challenge/invitation.

- media fast - would be hard, but doable
- getting on covenant path - doable

- giving time to the Lord each week - this one is where I can see so many getting stuck.  What does it mean to give time to the Lord each week?  Does that mean that the things we do have to be "Churchy"?  I don't think so.

This morning I was reminded of the 13th article of faith.  We seek good things.  Giving time to the Lord would be time where we are doing good - Good for others, Good for ourselves, Seeking Good, Improving on those talents and abilities we have been given.

I was reading an article in the New ERA this morning where a quote was shared.

"Is what you are doing today getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow?"  There are so many things we can do in the mortal life.  As long as seeking them would not prevent us from being one of those individuals mentioned in section 76:54-65, then we should be good.  As long as we are setting goals and working toward them along side our Heavenly Father, nothing will stop us.  We will be able to succeed.  It won't be easy, but it will be doable.

Have you set goals?  Have you included your Heavenly Father in those goals?  Are you doing "Valuable" things with your time to help you achieve them?  Think about it.

Quick review -

The past couple of weeks have been busy.  The Queen and I took SnackPack and Songbird on a Post- Mission trip.  It was a fun week filled with lots of giggles, laughs, driving, snacking, riding, playing, swimming, sleeping, and more.  We came home exhausted late Saturday night.

Sunday, I had some meetings and then jumped on a aeroplane for the Windy City.  Another week on the road.  As soon as I left, the AC crashed.  Luckily, we were blessed to get it fixed Monday morning before the Queen joined me in the Windy City.  She was only there for a couple of days before returning home and prepared for her journey to Delhi.

The Professor has made sure the house has been in order while we have been gone.  She is so looking forward to tracking off in a couple of weeks.

Tall Man and Ehl-Bo have been busy booking, hosting, and participating in events.  It sounds like they have a couple Mer-Courts coming up as well as some great couple time.  We look forward to hearing more about their adventures.

Puddin and Lady Hawkins have been filling their short recess from classes with work.  We know that Lady Hawkins was trying to get all of her certification hours done on various shifts before going on a school retreat.  We hope she has been able to do so.

SnackPack started a new job this week and jumped in with both feet.  He has been busy working long hours at various times.  He is hopeful that it will work well with his school schedule that starts next week.

I flew home on Friday and spent the day Saturday helping SnackPack move.  We got him settled for the most part.  There were a few hiccups, but I think he will live through them.  We look forward to hearing how the new adventure for both Songbird and him next week as they settle in to a new semester of school.  They will be followed by Pudding and Lady Hawkins and then the Professor will hopefully start her last semester of the program.

We love you all.

Set the Goal, Include your Father, Make them a priority every day!
