What are you Choosing?
Yay!!! We are home!
Seriously, I have not slept in my own bed for more than 5 hours in the last 2 weeks. I am really excited to be home.
This week has been most adventurous, but we will get to that in a minute.
Let's start with some pondering. I don't know why, but my mind had followed a different path this week. D&C 76:89-92
At first, I was completely humbled to read about the comparison of these three kingdoms. Kingdoms that are obtained by choice. Yep, we choose how close we want to be to God the Father and His mansions on high.
Second, no matter what choices we make, He still loves us. He still blesses us. He still wants us to achieve, obtain, and have all that we can. He has given us a plan, but not all of us will choose to follow that plan. Yet the blessings of the third kingdom, "...surpasses all understanding...", then the second kingdom, "...excels in all things the glory of the..." third. And finally the first kingdom, "...excels in all things..."
As I have pondered the choices these people make. I wonder about myself. I am able to do a little self evaluation and recognize things that I should be doing better if I am going to feel comfortable in the first kingdom. I am sure we all have things that we could do better. I wonder if there are things I am doing or have done that would make me uncomfortable to be around my earthly father and mother, I ponder about things that I should be doing better to be worthy of my spouse and children. My evaluation expands to my elders quorum president, bishop, stake president, and prophet. The more I thought about it, I reflected upon one of our adventures this week in the Nashville Temple, did I feel comfortable in "The House of the Lord"?
After this pondering, I started to think about the two men who were receiving this vision. Both had been deemed worthy to receive, yet one later made choices that moved him further and further away from the house of the Lord. He started siding with those who opposed the voice of the prophet. In fact, because of his choices, he did not even feel comfortable being in the same city as the prophet. Eventually, he made choices that distanced him from the entire body of the church.
How is this possible? Especially after all he had seen. I wonder if I am making similar choices.
Our week -
I last posted from the Capital of Country. It did not take long for us to realize the we were not country fans, but made the best of it any way. We saw some amazing sites. We learned a great deal about history. We spent a great deal of time together, walking, talking, and just enjoying each others company, the Queen and I, that is. As mentioned, we finished the adventure in the temple.
On Wednesday, we made a quick trip home only to hook up with the Professor and SnackPack.
Thursday morning we were up before the sun and headed south to go north. Getting there is half the fun. It just made for a long day.
We had a wonderful time seeing the wonders of Mother Nature, walking the forests of Rainer, smelling the fish of Pike's, getting stuck on a Gum wall, climbing a Troll, and watching a Draw Bridge rise. It was fun.
We ended the adventure the same way we started, going a little here and there to get where we wanted.
While we were gone, we understand that Tall Man and Ehl-Bo hosted a wonderful dinner, scored some new gigs, and continued planning for a Witches Night Out.
We here little quips from Puddin and Lady Hawkins, but not much detail. We hope they have had a wonderful week. We look forward to hearing from them soon.
