Committing to Following

Greetings from the confinement,

I know that we say we are confined.  I guess many have restricted themselves completely to the walls of their abodes, but I also know that other get out.  They have to.  I know I do.  Whether it is shopping, working, or just doing a little yard work, we need to get out.

I have been out this week.  I have been in this week.  I struggle feeling guilty doing one or the other, but make it work.

I continued pondering from 2 Nephi 31:10-12

"And he said unto the children of men: Follow thou me.  Wherefore, my beloved brethren, can we follow Jesus save we shall be willing to keep the commandments of the Father?"

"And the Father said: Repent ye, repent ye, and be baptized in the name of my Beloved Son."

"And also, the voice of the Son came unto me saying: He that is baptized in my name, to him will the Father give the Holy Ghost, like unto me; wherefore, follow me, and do the things which ye have seem me do."

It seems that the message I am supposed to be receiving as of late is to keep the commandments.  How many of you struggle with this like I do at times?

It is not always easy, when faced with challenges, to choose the commandments over other things like survival.  Yet I find myself repenting on a regular basis and trying to live them better.

As I have pondered these verses this week, one thing that has stood out to me is that fact that he said: "Follow thou me."  It seems so simple, but deep at the same time.

In my pondering this week, I have come across 3 Nephi 18:27.  It has become more clear to me as a result what following means.  In verse 27, Jesus had presented himself to the people of Nephi as a perfected and resurrected being.  Yet he reminds them that he had to go unto the Father to fufil other commandments which his Father had given to him.

Living the gospel is more than a life time commitment.  It is something we must commit to always.  Jesus Christ is showing us the way.  This pattern of life should be Eternal.  This is what I strive for.  I know that I am not there yet, but doing my dangedest to get there.  I hope you are well.  I would like to get there with you.

Our Week -

It has been pretty quarantine routine.

The Queen took on a service project this week.  It has kept her busy.  When she is not working on the project, she is working one job or another.

The Professor continues seeking ways to make online school interesting and enjoyable.  She has struggled with the vagueness of district communication.

Tall Man is waiting for training on his new position, but doing well.  It was fun to see them yesterday before they went on a ride and for a few minutes after they finished.  We completely enjoyed spending time with Lego so they could let the wind blow through their hair.

From the sounds of it Puddin and Lady Hawkins are doing well.  We haven't heard how Lady Hawkins did on her finals, last we spoke she was confident she would do well.

SnackPack continues to hit the grind every morning and seek release in the evenings.  He got some sun this weekend that looks good on him.
