The Plan - No matter where you are on the Path
Happy Sabbath!
Yep, here I am trying to adjust to another routine change in my life. It seems that they come more frequently as of late.
I hope that all of you are being safe, wise, and healthy.
My pondering comes this week from Alma 7:14-15. I didn't write it down like I should have this week. When I has spare moments to think about it, I found myself in chapter 5:14-15 verses 7. Maybe I need to ponder 5 more than I needed to ponder 7. However, I am impressed with both of them and that they both come from what we have been studying this week in Come Follow Me.
Ok, I am getting ahead of myself. Let me share what is in these verses. Lets start with 7.
"Now I say unto you that ye must repent, and be born again; for the Spirit saith if ye are not born again ye cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven; therefore come and be baptized unto repentance, that ye may be washed from your sins, that ye may have faith on the Lamb of God, who taken away the sins of the world, who is mighty to save and to cleanse from all unrighteousness."
" Yea, I say unto you come and fear not, and lay aside every sin, which easily doth beset you, which doth bind you down to destruction, yea, come and go forth, and show unto your God that ye are willing to repent of your sins and enter into a covenant with him to keep his commandments, and witness it unto him this day by going into the waters of baptism."
Who was Alma speaking to? Were the people of Gideon good or bad?
Now let's read from chapter 5:
"And now behold, I ask of you, my brethren of the church, have ye spiritually been born of God? Have ye received is image in your countenances? Have ye experienced this mighty change in your hearts?"
"Do ye exercise faith in the redemption of him who created you? Do you look forward with an eye of faith, and view this mortal body raised in immortality, and this corruption raised in incorruption, to stand before God to be judged according to the deeds which have been don in the mortal body?"
Who is Alma speaking to here? Were the people of Zarahemla good or bad?
How are the messages different and similar at the same time? Aren't both about the plan of redemption? Does it matter where we are on the path back to our Heavenly Father's presence? Isn't the requirements of us the same?
The people of Gideon were better at living the Gospel than the people of Zarahemla at the time, yet the message to repent was just as powerful to them as it was to those of Zarahemla. The message for us today is just as valid as it was then. What are we doing about it?
I love the words of 7:15 "...come and fear not..." The important thing is to come and do something.
These verses have touched me a great deal this week. I hope you can open your hearts to the message for you as well.
Our week -
It has been another amazing week. I have found myself having to stop and remember to trust the Lord. He truly listens to my prayers and blesses me as he knows I need. Both the Queen and I have seen his hand in our lives this week.
The Queen's schedule was a little different this week. As she has transitioned to her new job responsibilities, we have seen her schedule changing frequently, yet she had found time to tackle multiple projects through out the week.
The Professor wrapped up another year. Now she is moving on to the next focus, Gus-Gus.
We loved having Tall Man, Ehl-Bo, and Lego join us this week. We talked about how the challenges of today's world has effected each of us. Lego hasn't seemed to mind the changes at all. We had some quality time cooking together.
Puddin had an interesting week. Not only is he transitioning to a new stage in life, but his adventures had a powerful influence in his life. Lady Hawkins is preparing for the next exam and hopes to have it taken within the next couple of weeks.
SnackPack has graced our home multiple times this week. We have enjoy the energy and dialogue surrounding his adventures. Some have worked out and others not so much. Maybe it is too soon to talk about the wraps.
