Scripture Thought

1 Nephi 8:17-18

It always comes back to this same theme. They had to choose. Laman and Lemuel were at the same place the rest of the family was. As a family, they had all progressed together. They had the same knowledge, the same training, the same opportunities. What was different?

The scriptures call it stiffneckedness. What do we call it? Stubbornness? Rebellion? Disrespect? Idleness? Agency?

Laman and Lemuel had to make a choice. Lehi exhorted them same way, with the same desire, the same enthusiasm that he did with the rest of his family. Do your parents do the same? How about your priesthood and relief society leaders? What about your Sunday School/Primary teachers? Do they exhort you with the same desire, enthusiasm, or energy?

How do you respond? Like Laman and Lemuel or the rest of the family? Think about it.
