They they Might
I started this post about an hour ago. Just as I was finishing up, the screen suddenly went blank and it was all lost. I guess that means that I wasn't supposed to post what I was typing. I have had some time to think about it and will see if I can word it differently. Maybe I should make it more generic. Let's see what I come up with.
There has been a verse or two of scripture running through my head as of late. I don't know why I keep coming back to it, but I do. Last night, I re-read these verses and jotted down my thoughts and feelings about them. The word that stuck out in my mind as I read was "Might". It indicated to my mind that the plan of the Lord, the purpose of this earth being created, us coming into mortality, the Lord himself coming to mortality is that certain things MIGHT come to pass. Whether that be salvation, judgement, or exaltation. When thought of in that perspective, I am lead to believe they are conditional.
Is it that we do not understand those conditions? Or, is it that we understand the conditions, but we do not want to accept them? It doesn't really matter. The plan has provision for both.
My mind has been on those two options as of late. It has been made clear to me that the conditions have not changed. They have been the same since the beginning. However, there are some that would think they have changed, that new conditions have been introduced, or they think that the conditions should change to suit their needs, the wants of the world, or for convenience. It saddens me that because of this, some have chosen not to acknowledge, affiliate with, or respect those who are doing their best to live with what has always been there.
My mind recently went to some families who are being torn apart because of it. I have questioned how I would or should handle such a situation if presented with it. I wonder, would change? Should I change?
My thoughts turn to Adam and Eve. How did they deal with it? They were the first family. How did they deal with those of their children who chose not to accept those conditions? What did they do? I am awed by them and what they had to deal with. I hope I can only do the same.
Might the blessings of God's plan be realized in you.
