Twisters Hit Us When Least Expecting It
Another whirlwind of a week has come and gone. Some things have been swept away and others deposited. I am grateful for those deposits that have been learning experiences.
The Queen worked a crazy schedule this week. I could hardly keep up with it all. There were afternoons she was in bed before I even thought about coming home from work so she could leave for work just hours after I went to bed. Then she would get to work and they would tell her that they needed to do the same thing again, but earlier...tomorrow. By the end of the week, I was just grateful to have time to spend with her and know that she was awake.
The Professor made it. She completed another year without losing too much hair and she can still hula. Now the summer adventure begins. She was sure she was going to be able to start going to bed later, sleep in longer, and run outside when the sun is up. We will see how it goes.
Puddin is doing all he can to just keep up with his schedule. He has spent long hours standing over folding tables, organizing racks of clothing, and continuing or attempting to continue working at the pool. When he is home, he is exhausted and just want to veg or sleep.
SnackPack has done the same thing, but his challenge is filling his down time from the stand with adventures around the valley. Then the whirlwind started around the deck. Wednesday afternoon, the entire staff was informed that the boiler and filtration device was down for the count and not to count on working again for 7 days. SnackPack did everything he could to make new plans that need not mean sitting in a chair and absorbing ultraviolet rays.
Puddin on the other hand did his best to fill his now failed paycheck with another one.
Both were rather caught off guard when they sent out another message less than 48 hours later saying the problem had been fixed and that they needed to plan on being back on their regular schedule. It was OK for SnackPack and not so much for Puddin because he was now double booked and is scrambling to cancel some of the bookings.
On Thursday, the twist hit us where we least expected. Around 3:30 p.m., we were told that Tall Man was being released and to plan on picking him up in the next few days. He was told at 5 p.m., which would have been 4 p.m. our time. At 8, we were told he would be arriving the next morning around 10:30 in the morning. We were all taken by surprise, but that is what life is, full of surprises. We just take them one day at a time.
Friday was the 4th. We spent it working, running to the airport, collecting another addition to the twister, and spending time with family of sorts. For this I am grateful.
Saturday morning, we were invited to witness a wonderful ordinance. It was incredible. I learned again that I need to be more diligent, but am grateful for a merciful Father who loves me enough to continue teaching me when I am not as diligent as I should be. I need to repent.
The rest of my weekend has been filled with those moments. I have been edified by the growth of others. I have received personal enlightenment. I have been able to share bits and pieces of my own with others in hopes that they too will be lifted. I hope it works.
My mind is full, but I am trying so much to verbalize what is rattling around up there. As soon as I do, I will share. I just need to organize it.
Stand Tall, Speak Boldly, Don't Sweat the Little Stuff.
