Baby Steps...the status will change
We will start the message off with some exciting news! Status Change: Ready For Assignment
That is all we have. We are hoping that it will change to "Assigned" soon, but as we were reading scriptures today, D&C 11: 15-17, the Lord reminded us all that we should "Wait a little longer...". It is not easy or fun, in fact, it is down right nerve racking. Puddin is going crazy out of his mind. He wants to be doing something or at least know when he will be doing something.
I guess we will start with his week first. His summer job has now been over for 2 weeks. He asked for more hours at his second job and was given several opportunities the first week, but it dropped to 4 hours this week. He has been doing all he can to remain calm and sane. He spent some time putting updating his resume, searching for openings, putting in applications, and wanting to do just have the opportunity to interview. It has not gone as well as planned. It looks like he is going to have another week of the same to look forward to. If anyone knows of opportunities out there, let him know.
When he is not updating, searching, and/or applying he gets up before the sun and takes me to work so he can have transportation, works out at the gym, works out in the basement, washes, cleans, organizes, watches movies, plays games, and does whatever he can to keep himself distracted. I thought I had it bad by not having a church calling. At least I can go to work for a few hours and distract myself.
SnackPack is doing his best to stay distracted as well. His days of sleeping in are pretty much over for the season. Both morning and afternoon practices have started up. He gets up with me and is getting his feet wet by 5. His comment at one point this week was that he had spent more time in the water than he had in bed. Between practices, homework, polo, games, and guarding, I am lucky to see him just before he walks out the door for morning practice most days.
I was able to watch a game and sit on the same row as he did during church today. I guess we can count that for something.
Tall Man would love some distraction. He is doing his best to fill his down time. Hopefully his new calling will give him something more to do. He has a great support group of friends that are always seeking worth while past times. He keeps plugging along at work, looking for the "flecks of gold" in life, and saving for the future. Sometimes being an adult has it's downsides.
The Professor also had some exciting news this week. On Friday, she received a "special gift" at Oquirrih Mountain. It was a wonderful event. She still has much to learn about the gift and all that it has in store for her, but that will come with time and practice. She had so much support from family and friends in the process.
The Queen just spent the week doing the mundane. I think one of the counselors in the stake summarized it very well today at conference. Our life is pretty simple. Every thing is Family, Work, and Church. That is the sum total of what she does and did this week. When I reflect on all that those three things require, I am amazed with her endurance.
We will see what this week brings. I am doing my best to occupy my downtime. There is rumor out there that I won't have as much time in the near future, but until then, I will continue to pay my tithes and fill the time with good.
Have a great week!
