Incredible Place of Instruction
This one has been another one of those crazy busy weeks. I am sorry that I did not update yesterday for those on the small island in the West. The day got away from me and I remembered this morning when I read your update.
To start with, we all had a wonderful opportunity yesterday to attend a re-dedication. We attended the first session and felt blessed to be guided as we were. There were a couple thoughts that stood out in my in mind as I listened to the speakers.
First, what impressed me most from Elder Clayton's talk was about the healing power of the atonement. We are able to benefit from that healing power as we attend the temple. His words brought me to recent readings in 4th Nephi:2-5. After Christ had visited and ministered to the people of the Americas they were "...all converted unto the Lord...", "...they were all made free and partakers of the heavenly gift...:", "...great and marvelous works...heal the sick...raise the dead...caused the lame to walk...the blind to receive their sight...the deaf to hear..."
Elder Clayton spoke of how the temple (heavenly gift), allows us to partake of this healing power as everything in the temple leads to Christ. If we look at this message symbolically, how many of us have found ourselves in a spiritually sick state? Are we not able to be healed? How many of us find ourselves in a spiritually dead state? Do we not have the opportunity to be raised? As we walk the straight and narrow path, how many of us have found ourselves to be walking with a lame limp and have we not been made whole? As we turn to the Savior and His temple, are our eyes not opened that we might see or our ears unstopped that we might hear? It is through faithful attendance and living our lives that we might be worthy at any given time to enter His house that we are able to benefit from this healing power.
As President Monson then told us, "Love it, Appreciate it, Attend it", speaking of the the temple. It was a great meeting.
From our meeting, we quickly changed and headed north to visit Gram's and Gramp's, they enter the MTC today. We all gathered to share a day and early Christmas dinner with them, since they will be serving elsewhere for the next 12 months. After filling our bellies, we joined them at the stake offices to witness their setting apart as servants of the Lord. It was a wonderful opportunity to witness the Priesthood in action.
That all being said, that is why I was otherwise occupied yesterday and did not get a chance to share updates.
The rest of the week was pretty much the same old same old.
The Queen and I continued to get up and work each day. There were a couple days in the week that she came in late due to the fact that SnackPack was not feeling well. Cookie was diagnosis with strep and we were worried he was coming down with the same. The Queen also filled her time with stitching ornaments, catching up on episodes, and spending time with family. It was a wonderful week.
The Professor did the same. Between the two of them, (the Queen and Professor), they are cookie cutters of sorts.
Tall Man had an adventurous week. He was stabbed, helped drain a kitchen sink, and was cast as Sykes (sp?) and Jacob Marley in an upcoming festival. It keeps him busy, exhausted, and excited about life. We are looking forward to seeing what becomes of it all.
Puddin was able to receive a wonderful gift in Bountiful on Saturday evening. He now has the next few months to learn all he can from it before heading down south. He and I started that learning process this morning before he reported to his new job.
As mentioned previously, SnackPack spent most of the week battling illness. He was torn between AP classes and sleep. He did pretty good balancing the two. We missed his presence on Saturday evening, but know that his time will come. Just a few more years and he will be able to receive the same gift.
So that is our week in a nut shell. We did have a wonderful time seeing everyone on Saturday and Sunday. We were even blessed to share time with our Idaho Spud's mother. It was fun to have her learn how crazy this clan of ours is.
Have a great week everyone. Remember to Love it and Appreciate it, whether you can Attend it or not. Someday you will be able to, so prepare now.
