Humbled and Inspired to Make Change
Here we are, waiting for the 6th and final session of General Conference. My mind and heart have been filled thus far. I am sure that I will have them filled with more as I go back and review the thoughts and messages that have been and will be delivered. I was not able to witness Saturday Mornings session due to work commitments, but look forward to watching in over the next couple of days while working out. Thus far, I find myself feeling a little hypocritical. I have vowed within in to make the changes I need to fully sustain those for whom I have raised my right hand. I/we need to do a better at walking vs. just talking.
In addition to the words of the prophets, my thoughts also reach out to those in the islands right now. I know there are many of you who are strapped in for a rough ride. I am hearing schools are closed and everyone is being asked to stay indoors, warm, and dry. Know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
The Queen has spent the week preparing for up coming training classes. She is now in her final countdown in the office and will be ready to start working from home next week at this time. It has been a bitter sweet experience for all of us. I am sure it will continue to affect us all in different ways over the next few weeks. Some of these training classes she is preparing for will be done from home.
The Professor spent the week preparing for the opportunity to share a special moment with dear friends and roommates. It has been a little stressful trying to prepare for the time away from some of her little rug rats, but that is what life is all about. It was a pleasure being able to share our home with some of her friends and their families.
Side note, as I reflect upon the moments of the past few days, it has been so refreshing sharing our home with all of our children's friends and families. Again, feeling that we need to spend more time sharing such moments. It is time to make changes. We need more of those associations and memories in our lives.
Tall Man made it home safely, returned to work, suffered through a bout with the Gambu(sp?), returned to normal life. He is not the only one who suffered this week. We are grateful for the health that has returned to our home. The count down is now on for Dickens. He is excited to participate and ready to do more, but trying to be patient.
Puddin announced this afternoon that tomorrow will mark the 100 day count down. He is excited to make it go as fast as possible. He suffered a little Gambu as well, but seems to be making a quick recovery.
SnackPack continues the rigorous schedule of being a Junior. He crashes at the drop of a pin and pushes himself to the limits when he is awake.
We all had a great opportunity this week to send Gram and Gramps off for yet another grand adventure. It was a blessing to us all to hear of their short experiences in the MTC and look forward to hearing of those to come. Report is that they have arrived safely, doing their best to endure the heat, and loving every minute of the experience.
Have a good week. Keep looking for the Light in all you do!
