Another Great Adventure Begins
The thrills and adventures of life never end. We just need to remember to keep our seat belts securely fastened and to keep our arms, legs, hands and feet inside the vehicle. Party on Wayne!
I am sitting here looking out the window and trying to remember that is is January. The weather continues to be unseasonably mild. The blue skies, iceless streets, and mild temperatures have tempted me more than once this week. I needed to clear my head and focus, so I put on some running gear and took a run. It was invigorating. I came home refreshed and ready to focus.
The following day, I was still seeking the same comfort so I woke up early and tried it again. Although the cleansing feeling was the same, this time I returned "Frosted". It was a tad bit colder the second day, enough to freeze every ounce of moisture leaving my body, but invigorating none the less.
We need the moisture, but I am not sure I really want the snow. Each time I pass a snow blower in the store, I get this eerie feeling in my stomach that I am going to need one soon.
Did you know that when baby elephants want attention and throw tantrums, that they literally seek out mud puddles to throw themselves in?
This week has been a good one. We are allowed to continue working and providing for our needs. The Queen continues to work random hours and I think it is all starting to catch up to her. She took a couple days off earlier this week, but did not stop the maddening pace she maintains. By Friday, she was starting to get the sniffles. She is still in denial, but did not feel well this morning. I am starting to understand where the candle burning comes from in our family.
The Professor spent several more hours out and about this week than she is used to. It seemed that she spent most of her time jetting between meetings, work, and planned activities. Like her mother, she is burning both ends of the candle. By the end of the week, she too was feeling a little under the weather.
Tall Man just wants to sleep. He doesn't really do it very often, but that is what he wants to do. He started a college class this week and is approaching it with mixed emotion. He knows he needs too, but does not want to. He is excited to learn, but not looking forward to the extra work load it will bring to his plate.
Puddin has really been focused on his New Year's resolutions. He decided he would take a trip this week. Travel More - Check I am sure he will see more of it, but one down. I understand he is also working on developing his skills of speaking a different language. We know he arrived safely. He is thrilled to be wearing a name tag. We look forward to a report later this week. P-days are on Thursday.
SnackPack has found himself swimming in solidified water this week. Though he has a long weekend, he continues to seek wetness in all its many forms. He was exposed to the art of snowshoeing on Friday. He had so much fun getting wet that he decided to share the adventure with others on Saturday. Unfortunately, the frozen pool party was full and he was kicked off the mountain by the Po-Po. At least he can say he did it.
Stay securely fastened. Enjoy every moment you have. Puddles are great stress relievers.
Have a great week!
