Sailing Along

Wow, it has been one of those days!  I have a feeling it will be one of weeks, but we are going to make it.

Where do I begin.  I started out last week talking, rambling, or just shooting out random thoughts that were bouncing around in my head.  They did not leave.  As the week has progressed, I continue to add to the randomness.  This weeks lesson topic in Sunday School was about Zacharias, Elizabeth, and Joseph's espoused wife, Mary.  Four very incredible people.  I love their stories.   I love the examples they have left for us.

But that is not where my focus has been.  One of the lesson suggestions was to ask the class, if it were possible to meet an individual from the New Testament, who would it be, why would you want to meet them, and what would you ask?

I have pondered that question a great deal this week.  My first response was very similar to all those in the class.  They would want to meet these individuals because they walked, talked, ate, and lived in the presence of Jesus Christ, our Savior.  Oh, how I would love to walk, talk, eat, and live in the presence of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  But then I realized, these individuals that I we are talking about are no different than you and me.  Even though they had to decide if they were going to follow Jesus.  In fact, their choice was probably even more challenging than the one you and I would have to make.  They had grown up with Jesus, to them, he was a cousin, nephew, carpenter's son, or kid from the synagogue.  They had seen him grow up with them, like them, and see the differences in him as he was growing.  They may have had to erase all of those thoughts and accept him as their own personal Lord and Savior.  Would I?  This is where my thoughts have been.

Then I got to Priesthood and we talk about loving God and putting him first.  Accepting Christ or loving God are really the same process.  We have to know them, be familiar with them, understand their desires, will's, and big picture plan.  What changes do I need to make in my left to get there?

So there is my randomness for today.  I know some of you are already thinking the same thoughts, because you were there with me in the meetings.  For those of you who were not, now you have something to think about about.

Other than that, it has been just another week.  The weather really cannot decide what to do.  Some places get snow, fog, cold, ice, fair weather, rain, and such.  It was cold enough last night to freeze the rain that feel, but warm enough to melt all the snow that fell on Christmas Day.

Gas prices are down, way down!  It has been nice to see a gallon less that $2.00.  Now if we could get the price of milk to do the same.

The Queen started the week out with some odd schedules of training, but finished them up doing the norm.  Her focus this week has been getting ready for the loving family and friends that came to support Puddin this week.  We have been shopping, cleaning, cooking, and planning.  Throw in leadership training and the normal Young Women's activities and you have summed up her week.

The Professor continues to find that there is a never dull moment when leading.  She did well with the funeral and will do fine with the unexpected meetings that are dropped in her lap.  She has realized that she need to start balancing things in life a little differently.  She still gets up early, but not as early.  She is doing well to divide and organize her time.

Tall Man is heading down the road of education.  What does that mean?  He is not sure.  It weighs heavily on his mind as well as his stress level.  It just does not sound fun to go back to school, regardless if it is going to help him achieve other goals in life.   I can understand that.

Puddin finished up his last shift at the COB and is now doing all he can to focus on his next adventure.  Time is flying.  It is exciting, scary, nerve racking, and thrilling all the same time.  Today he gave his farewell words of wisdom.  He is like me.  He has a whole mess of random ideas and thoughts jumping around in his head and trying to harness them into something that sounds logical.  He did a great job.

We were overwhelmed with the loving support he received from so many friends and family.  It was good to see some that we have not seen in a while.  Even better to see those that we should have seen, but have not made the effort to do so.  Thanks to all.  We hope you know who you are.  It was recorded for those who are wondering.

SnackPack is back at the grind.  It is not fun, but he is doing it.  Not only did he still have performances, but he added two swim meets, work, and church ball to the mix.  It has been a wickedly crazy week for him as well.

So there you go.  Hope this finds you all well and safe.  Until next week, Cheerio!
