Moments That Cause Reflection

My mind has been full this week.  Sometimes it hones in on one area then there are times that it just randomly jumps from thought to thought only long enough for me the lights to go on, wake me up, and then jump to another, leaving me behind to try and figure out what I was just so excited about about and how to put it into words that would make sense to anyone other than myself.  That is where I am right now.

As I have pondered Priesthood lessons, conference talks, and current stewardships, it seems that my thoughts keep coming back to one.  "How to do I help others understand the doctrine of Jesus Christ?"  Then I am taken to a testimony of The Living Christ and read this:

"His gospel was a message of peace and goodwill.  He entreated all to follow His example.  He walked the roads of Palestine, healing the sick, causing the blind to see, and raising the dead.  He taught the truths of eternity, the reality of our premortal existence, the purpose of our life on earth, and the potential for the sons and daughters of God in the life to come."

Such a powerful statement.  Simple, yet so difficult to completely comprehend.  I yearn and seek for the peace.  I desire to spread goodwill.  Though often times we think of the sick, blind and dead and physical ailments, what of those who are spiritually sick, blind, and dead?  Is it that they just don't understand or fully grasp the truths, reality, purpose and potential He has seen?

This week has exposed me to many how lack in this understanding.  As I ponder the individual predicaments, I was led to Elder Klebingat's talk during conference.  Is that they have given in to the whisperings of the adversary and lack confidence to stand before God, His disciples, or even in the presence of their brothers and sisters?  I wonder.  Elder Klebingat tells it like it is.  We all have reason to repent.  We have all made mistakes and continue to do so on a daily basis, but if we live with the hope of the Atonement, we don't have to be ashamed.  The hope gives us strength to continue moving forward, striving to overcome those imperfections.  That is part of our purpose, to endure.  It is only when we give into the lies of Satan and his minions that we stop moving forward, trying to be and do better today than we did yesterday.  We stop see today as the best day ever, thus far in our lives.

He knows you!  The good and bad.  He loves you!  Imperfections and all.  He has shown us the way to overcome.  We just need to approach Him with confidence in His plan.

OK, I don't know if that came out the way it has been melded to my soul, but it is what it is.  Now on to the week.

It has been just another one of those semi-mundane weeks around here.  We all get up and go to work, school, practice, or what not.  We all come home and veg or go to bed.  Oh, we also eat at different times in between it all.

The Queen has been on reprieve from training.  We are in the process of transitioning our organizational reporting structure.  It has messed things up a little.  On Wednesday, we learned that we will be reporting to the West, far West.  I think we are both hoping for some required travel to meet our new leaders out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.  We will let you know how it goes.

The Professor had  a short week the nation celebrated MLK Day.  Then she supposedly started her off track period on Friday.  However, it does not sound like she is going to have much time off.  It looks like she is going to spend several days in professional development training.  Just enough to relax and too much to allow an off track road trip.

Tall Man made it to a full class this week. It sounds like his professor has healed and is rolling the class right along.  He is excited about that.  Unfortunately, he also had to attend the funeral of a small spirit who was taken home far too early for those left behind.  It seems that tragedy has been part of this week.

As I reported to some, there was a tragic accident waterside at the Rec Center this past week.  Unfortunately, after several days of fighting, his body did not recover and he too returned  to his Heavenly home.

Then, one of our favorite goalies lost her father to a battle with cancer as well.  He will be missed by many.

OK, on to positive thoughts.

Puddin reported in on P-day that he is alive and well.  The food is sufficient, the bedding is sleepable, the weather is fabulous, and the Spirit is strong.  We are glad he did not transpire on the crazy roads of a foreign land.  We look forward to hearing more of his adventures in the weeks to come.

SnackPack is doing his best to be tapered.  I think he is just saying he is on taper so he can get out of certain chores.  It is not working so well.  He still had to clean his room, the basement, and Elsa this week.  I know that  in some reports we told Puddin that his former living quarters were being cleaned.  Well, that was until SnackPack gave Elsa a deep clean.  Puddin's living quarters are almost where they were before he started his adventure.

SnackPack also went from chocolate to vanilla this week in anticipation of regions.  I think it is almost as bright as a vanilla bean verse a slightly tinted country vanilla.  We think it all because he cut his hair before converting.

Now if that does not confuse some of you, I don't know what will.  Let me know if you have questions, I will be more than happy to clarify.

Have great week!  Stand with Confidence!
