Stretching our Faith

I count my blessings this week and wonder about the strength of my faith as I ponder the infinite influence of the Lord in my life.  I am humbled as the still small voice whispers in my heart to teach me a more perfect path to follow.  I struggle to find the courage to walk it.

Yesterday, the Queen and I had to opportunity to assist others strengthen their bonds eternally.  It was a joy to sit and bask in the tranquility of the Lord's holy house.  Then a few couples joined us and brought the fruits of their family research.  The sealer was excited to help organize and complete the ordinances.  The he noticed that some of the names were all part of the same family unit.  It was marvelous to witness the sealings of several families, who had probably been waiting a long time, as 6 or more volunteers gathered around the holy alter.  It was a rare occasion to see not only individuals joined their parents, but entire families, parents, and siblings joined as one for time and all eternity.  To realize that we, I, us, together, have the opportunity as well to be one, in the Patriarchal Order of the Priesthood.

I walked away blessed to have been instructed by one of God's ministering angels.  I was inspired with the desire to obtain a witness of equal strength and power.  Someday, I hope to be a powerful of an instrument as this brother was to me.  At one point, we discussed the usage of two words that seemed or appeared to be equal in definition.  PERTAINING and APPERTAINING.  Both indicate a sense of belonging to.  However the later is more of earned right of being connected as the former is through duty.  Thus committing to fulfill our current duties as part of a whole in anticipation of earning the rights and powers of being influential attribute of the whole.  I walk away dizzy as I try to understand the depth of such differences.

So our week has been eventful, mundane in an ordinary sense of the word, and yet fulfilling.

The Queen has been overly productive in many ways and then finds herself bedridden with the overwhelming pain in her back.  I am grateful for the time, influence, and joy she has shared with me.  We were able to bond with friends and neighbors at a game night before she gave in to the discomfort.  I don't know if she believes the efforts have been or were worth the discomfort she is having in the present.

The Professor jumped right back into the swing of things with both feet.  Though it was a short week, she was completely exhausted and ready for the weekend when it arrived.  Though in her current calling, weekends seem to have been shortened in some bizarre sense.

Tall Man has been running all week.  We were blessed to have him around for a couple minutes this week, as he shared mini clips of his adventures.  He rises early to workout with friends, works his fingers and voice to the bone all day, and then continues his adventures via the Internet or laser tag late into the evenings.  Somewhere in the middle he finds room for school.

Puddin is preparing for the next phase of his adventure.  As I type this note, he is completing his time at what has affectionately been called the CCM.  Tomorrow he will rise early to start roaming the fields of prairie dogs, long horns, and oil rigs.  We look forward to sharing in his adventures.

SnackPack also returned to the munmadness of being a pirate.  He is looking forward to breaking up that madness with a little polo tomorrow.  When he was not pirating, we found ourselves in traps of car shopping.  It seemed that we wasted several valuable hours that we will never get back.  What is so hard to understand when we say "We want a clean vehicle that we can walk away with at said price, nothing more."  Then only to be roped, tied, and dragged through the lots of vehicles to be told here is one you like, but it is to cost you some 2k more than the price you wanted.  Would you like to counter our offer?  When we say no, they are upset that we are disgruntled and start flashing pages and pages of proof that they were not trying to rip us off.  Yet if they had started with the baseline we gave them, there would not have been as much gnashing of teeth.  FUN!

Make this week better than the last, live each day better than the previous, and look forward to the glory of the next to come.
