Short Lived
Well, what we thought was going to be a visit from Old Man Winter turned out to be just be a drive by. He did not even stay long enough to kill the flowers in the flower bed. There is some concern that it will hurt some of the fruit blossoms, but we will have to wait and see.
It has been a good week. I feel like I have been kind of lazy. I need to get off my duff and start doing more. The Queen and I did have the opportunity to go out last week and help teach Charla 2. It was a good experience. There is a part member family in our ward that has started taking the lessons again. The Queen was a little nervous about it at first, but it turned out to be OK. I had met the family several time before. Not at church, but when I was teaching school. I had one of their daughters, who is now grown with children of her own, when she was in junior high. The Elders are visiting again today. We will see what comes of it.
I was very interested in the conversation we were having. The dear Sister is caught up in her Native American roots, books she has read about what I would call re-incarnation, but she did not seem to think that is what it was, and many other philosophies of man. Everything she talked about sounded just like the Plan of Salvation.

- We are sent to this life for experience - Mortality, but she did not know where we were sent from.
- We choose what level of progress we make from these experiences - Agency.
- We move from one level of being to another based on our progress in our experience - Prison or Paradise.
- Everything is a battle of forces - Lucifer vs. Christ.
We seemed to be going in circles, but she would not admit or accept that she is only seeing a part of the plan, we were teaching her the whole plan.
- We know where we come from.
- We have freedom to choose our glories.
- We do move from different realms or experiences - Pre-Mortal, Mortal, Post-Mortal, Resurrection, Glories.
It became very clear to me that all the philosophies of man were all mingled with some bits and pieces of our Heavenly Father's Plan. It seems that every major novel or movie plot does the same, yet it is so hard for many to see.
I enjoyed sharing and hope to have the opportunity to do it again. It sounds like we are losing the Elders and getting the Sisters in our building. It will be fun to work with them from a different perspective.
Anywho...
The Queen has been battling the back pain again. She amazes me each day that she gets up and continues plugging along with all she does and with little complaint.
The Professor was trained to receive a practicum student. It sounds like she will have her for the most of third term. She goes into it with mixed emotion. I think she will do fine.
It has been fun to have Tall Man around more as of late. Everyone seems to be involved in school and such, Tall Man included, so activities during the week have been reduced to a minimum. He is thinking a great deal about the next step in his mortal adventure: stay local for school or move south for school. Lots to think about. We have enjoyed having him around and sharing with his friends.
We did hear from Puddin. He is alive and well in Rio Grande City. He has had some bike adventures that will make memories. We look forward to hearing from him tomorrow to see what his week has been like. We know there are many who would like snail mail just as much as e-mail. Remember that some need it more than others.
SnackPack is busy, busy, busy. This week was filled with ACT and the first scrimmage. He feels he did OK with ACT and is glad the stress of it is gone. The scrimmage did not go as well as he had hoped, but it was a good game. The other team was able to remain fresh. There were two on our team that had to iron man it. SnackPack being one of them. It is early in the season. We have more to enjoy.
I hope you all have a Fantasmic Week!
