Be Happy

This week, I am grateful to be able to share with you.  I hope that my thoughts are received with the spirit they were intended.  Life is easy to misinterpret.  If mine are misread, then I hope and pray the spirit will whisper the words you need to hear in your heart has he does mine when I share.

My thoughts have been centered on that last few verses in the sequence of the last few posts.  That does not mean they will change, but this is what I have.  We continue with 3 Nephi 27.  Verses 19-22.

The more I study these words, the more I come to understand how loving our Heavenly Father is.  I understand more His standards, His expectations, His aspirations for us.  Over and over again we hear His call to come unto Him, to follow Him, to seek Him, to ask Him, but when it comes right down to it, if we don't do our part, He will not let us enter.  His kingdom, house, home, mansion, or abode is His.  I envision our Heavenly Mother working along side Him to make it clean, presentable, and welcoming.  I witnessed that same attention to detail this week in my own home as we prepared to welcome family and friends for a Thanksgiving meal.  I was careful each day, after working on different projects in and outside the house, to make sure I was clean when I came in and that I areas I was working on were as clean, if not cleaner, than when I found them.

God's kingdom is no different.  In His home, there are expectations.  We are all invited, but required to meet, live, and strive for the expectations before entering.  He has provided a way for us to do so.  This choice is ours as to whether we will do them or not.

This is the gospel.  This is the plan.  By them, we will be able to achieve and obtain all that He aspires for us to have.

I am not there right now, but I am working my way there.  I hope you are as well.

Today in Sacrament meeting, a recently returned Elder from Ghana shared what he learned while serving.  It has stuck with me all day.  It is not the first time I have heard it, but it's meaning and value increase each time I do.  "God not as concerned about where we are right now, but where we can be and whether or not we are doing our best to walk that path."  We cannot let our mistakes hinder our progression.  When we fall, we get back up.  Maybe we use a band-aide and ointment from the Atonement kit, and keep on moving forward.  That is why the Savior was born.  That we might call upon that Atonement kit.

Keep on moving.

OK

I hope your week was well spent.  I pray that those up north have all received power by now.  We have only had to endure the cold and snow.  Yep, the snow is here.  It has not been much, but it has come.  Ti's the season.

I was on vacation all week.  I am glad that it did not start snowing until I had finished most of my outside labors.  I am really glad that we were able to get the snow blower up and running as well.  I have not had to use it yet, but am glad we are prepared for the day when I will.

Much to the dismay of the Queen, she had to work all week.  I did my best to get up with her each morning so she was not tempted to skip work.  She did pretty good.  The only time she did was to get ready for a house full of guests.

Much to the Professor's dismay, she had to work until Wednesday afternoon, even though SnackPack only went to school through Tuesday.  She survived.  The program was a success.  She only spent one day in bed not feeling well.

I would say that of all of us, Tall Man was the most dismayed.  He did have Thursday off, but worked every day there after, including a few hours today.  He was not a happy camper.  However, he was able to finagle a few hours reprieve today to attend church.  It was not what he wanted, but it was enough to get by on.

SnackPack has done his best to make everyday an adventure.  He has been hiking, spooking, singing, gaming, eating, napping, chillaxin, and more.  He nearly froze at the Ute game, but was saved by the warmth of the Magna Tree Lighting Celebration.

That is our week in a nutshell.  I look forward to hearing about yours.  Until then.

Be Happy!
