There are answers to the WHY, we just do always get them now.

Hey, Hey all, here we are at the end of or the start of another week.  I guess it all depends upon how you look at it.

In the past few weeks, we have seen, hear, and felt some pretty horrific things - Fires, Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Flooding, Record Heat Waves, and much, much more.  When we see, hear, and experience these things, it is easy to ask the question WHY?  Well, I am not sure I have all the answers.  I am in the same boat at times.  I am just like you.

However, I do find peace in my hope that someday, it will all make sense.   I have faith in a God and His vision of things.  I must say that there are times that I can even say I kind of understand His vision on the very smallest of terms.

I had a great deal of that in my thoughts this week.  I was pondering 2 Nephi 9:15-16.  "And it shall come to pass that when all men shall have passed from this first death...."  It is pretty clear.  In this life, we are mortal.  Death is part of mortality.  And that is just one of the many challenges of life.  Mortality is not perfect.  In fact, it is filled with a great deal of imperfection.   It is hard.  It is challenging.  It is depressing.  It is at times overwhelming.

But that is just one side of it.  Even with all the imperfections there is joy, happiness, bliss, adventure, excitement, fulfillment, power, blessings, hope, peace, and much, much more.  What are we promised, "...in all things there is an opposite..."  It is part of the vision, the plan, the goal, the mission.

The big question is, how do we focus on the positive and not the negative?  The adversary wants to to focus only on the negative.  He wants us to blame God for all the things that happen to us.  But is God that wants us to see beyond the bad and reach for the good.  He has shown us how to find it.  In fact, He has promised that we are all able to receive blessing of joy beyond our understand, upon conditions of faithfulness.

Keep reading verses 15 and 16, all that we will receive and all that we do receive is based upon righteous judgment and our action/reactions to the challenges that are placed before us.  I have pondered the ideas of Justice and Mercy a great deal as of late.  I have contemplated the never ending question of WHY a great deal, especially in the times of challenge.  As I try to align myself with God and His plan, I am able to see small glimpses of His wisdom.

If He were to do everything for us, how would we learn to fend for ourselves.  If we are not taught how to cook, how will we ever sustain ourselves when the cook is not around?  His wisdom is that we learn through our own experience.  Each of our experiences are unique and different.  Some of the experiences are a result of our choices.  Others may be a result of the choices that others we associate with or come in contact with have made.  The only thing we can control is how we will respond to such experiences.  That is what we will be judged by...how we respond.

I pray that we will find ways to respond as He would respond, according to the conditions set by Him and His plan.  It is not always fun.  It is not always easy.  But I promise that it is worth it.  I have received that personal witness borne to my soul.  It just requires that we are deliberate in our obedience and faithful as we endure.

I could go on, but that is for another rant.

The week has been good.

The Queen and I worked.  It continued to be a busy week are place of employment.  As on storm collapsed, another arose.  I am sure we will see it continue on into the week to come.

The Professor is trying to figure out how best to work around being off track and maintain a sense of order with out her classroom calendar.  There were some hiccups on the week, but I thinks she is figuring it out.

Tall Man and Ehl-Bo learned a great deal about themselves this week.  It was not an easy or fun week, but in the end they were able to learn and grow from the experiences.  I am pleased at how they both handled it.

Puddin and Lady Hawkins returned from the first week of marriage and returned to life and that it has in store for them.  It sounds like they had a great time and now it is back to the books, classroom, and workforce.  The joys of mortality.

We were able to hook up with Gram and Gramps this weekend a couple times.  They joined us for an evening of heartburn build-up at the Boy Scout Chili Cook off.  Luckily we all survived, yes there were times I was wondering if we would.  Then we shared a lovely dinner with them this evening.

Songbird dropped by and did her best to catch us up on the craziness she calls life.  School has hit her like a storm.  She has been busy, busy, busy.  I guess that can be good.  We were happy to see her and compare adventures.

We also had a short visit with one of our favorite Lady Polo Players.  The Professor gets to see her in passing at church every once in a while, but us, not so much.  She is working, going to school, and trying to be a nanny at the same time.  Sounds like she has been busy, busy, busy as well.  Another result of mortality.

I hope and pray you are all well.

Until next week...
