Repeated Commands, but with direction.

Here we are entering another special week.  I am excited to be able to be here to do so.

My thoughts have been merged and mingled in many ways this week.  If you turn to 3 Nephi 11:35-38 with me.  At first, I thought these verses were just a repeat of lasts weeks pondering.  However, if you look closely there are some subtle differences that were revelatory to me.  I know I had a few moments to share it with SnackPack earlier this week and look forward to his thoughts.  As you take some time to ponder these verses this week, I also welcome yours.

Let's start with last weeks verses.  Jump to 3 Nephi 11:32.  Move to the end where we get a commandment from the Father: "...commandeth all men, everywhere, to repent and believe in me..."  This commandment is repeated several times in the next several verses.  We are told over and over again to repent and believe in Christ.  Well that is what I was reading and have probably read over and over again for years now.

Take a moment to read last weeks verses and now this weeks verses a couple times.  How many times are we told to repent?  How many times are we told to believe?  What does that mean?  How do we do it?

Now read verse 37. "...ye must repent, and become as a little child..."  Verse 38 repeats the same thing.

What needs to be done?  We need to repent.  We need to believe.  We need to believe as a little child.  This is where I have been pondering this week.  How does a child believe?  How did I believe when I was a child?  With that belief, what was impossible to me?  Do I believe in the same way today?  What do I need to repent of so that I can believe as a child or become as a child?

Amazingly enough, Elder Cook's talk from conference fits perfectly with this concept.  We need to live every day with our sites on the Eternities.  We need to make sure that all of our choices will be choices that lead us to the Eternity that we want, the Eternity that He want for us.  We need to believe as children; humble, meek, faithful, loyal, dedicated, committed, never doubting, etc...

I leave the pondering of these questions to your own minds.  As you ponder them, I would ask that you add Elder Christofferson's talk to your study.

Our week has been good.

The temperture is dropping here.  It has not dropped as much as it has in Illinois, but it has dropped.  Maybe it has dropped the same, but it feels a whole heck of lot different than it does here.  That is where I started my week.  Then I came home to celebrate Gramps "Older than Dirt" date of birth.  It was good to get together.

The Queen has been busy this week.  Work is filled with training and coaching.  It keeps her busy.  When we is not on the phone, she is working diligently on a project or two.

The Professor spent the week wrapping up the last paper for this semester.  Now she can start thinking about Christmas.

Tall Man cast a new production in which he is the assistant director, wraps up a semester this week, and, tomorrow he starts a new job.  We are excited to here how it goes.  Oh yes, he got his car back.

Ehl-Bo has tried out for a new production, transferred to new location for work, and moves up on the age ladder this week.  We look forward to celebrating with her.

We have had a little communication this week with Puddin and Lady Hawkins.  They have finished a semester of classes and are moving into finals this week.   When they are not studying, typing, or sleeping, they are working.  We will see what the break brings.
