Simple that is often made Hard

Happy Sabbath Day!  For those of you following a long with #LighttheWorld today was a day of gathering.  I hope you took advantage of the opportunity to gather, whether that was with a congregation, a group of friends, family, or something similar.  I know I am grateful for the opportunities that were afforded me to gather.  Not only was I able to meet with my ward, but we were able to meet with our stake for the annual Christmas Devotional.

It has been a wonderful day and week.  I hope yours have been just as wonderful.

This week I have been pondering 3 Nephi 11:39-41.   Again, I am amazed at how wonderful the Lord works in my life.   As part of last weeks blog, I also encouraged you to read Elder Christofferson's conference talk.  He takes these verses to a higher plane.

What is the doctrine of Christ?  What is the rock we should be building upon?  We must believe.  We must apply what we believe.  We must stretch our roots deep into His example and follow Him.  Elder Christofferson suggests that we need to feast upon this doctrine, internalize it, make it part of us, fill our lives and the lives of all of those around us with His light.

When you think about it, it really is just a simple thing to do, but it is also so easy to make it hard.  As I have pondered it over and over again in my mind this week, I have come to realize those changes I need to  make to repent.  What it comes down to is making sure that the things I am doing are in accordance with His will, no more, not less.  If I am doing this, I will be building upon the sure foundation.

I hope that you will take the time to review, ponder, and seek guidance as to what you should be doing and making sure that what you are doing is in line with His will for you.

The next Apostle in line for additional study is Elder Andersen.  Hope you make it worth the time.

One with the week:

The Queen has been working with one person every day for four hours each day for the past few weeks.  I have a feeling she will continue for a few more.  When she is not training, she has been manning a help line for agents who struggle.  It  has given her a whole lot of time to do all sorts of things.  I fear her crafting and holiday projects are getting close to an end.

The Professor has been taking advantage of not having to go to class and not having to prepare for class.  She has been shopping, reading, sleeping, and lunching with friends.  She has another week before she goes back to get the classroom ready for the children after the first of the year.

Tall Man has been loving his new job, but it is kicking his butt.  It is good to come home whipped, but feeling like you were part of something good.

Ehl-Bo continues the holiday work schedule and is preparing to start taking classes in the new year.  She also auditioned for something different this week.

Puddin and Lady Hawkins finished another semester.  It was a learning experience for all.  It sounds like they will be working their tails off in the week to come before enjoying the holiday break.

I hope you all make the best of the week to come.

Cheerios.
