Build up on His gospel

Happy Sabbath Day!

I hope the first Sunday of 2018 has been a wonderful experience for you.  I know I was blessed, edified, and spiritually nourished.

For those of you who are not reading this today, I hope that you are able to have the memory of such a day.

This week I have had a great deal on my mind.  Some times finding and keeping a routine that you like is hard.  It is a new year, we always have those little things that we want to change, there are always those things that we are forced to change, and then life just happens and our routines are messed up.  It has given me much to think about.

In my moments of pondering.  I have been reading 3 Nephi 27:8-10.  These verses not only make me think of the church of Christ, but all the numberless churches that there are in the world.  The seem to continue multiplying.  Interestingly enough, this has been a subject of conversation with many of my Uber riders.  Interesting first that it even comes up in the short distances that I am driving these complete strangers and that they would feel comfortable talking about it, and secondly that there are so many people out there that are thinking about church, religion, truth, and seeking to find answers from any source, even an Uber driver.

I am grateful that I have been able to share my small testimony with each.  I am grateful that I am able to point out, just like these verses, that there is good in the world.  There are lots and lots of well meaning people, who with pure intent, have organized churches to accomplish good in the world.  But that even though these things are good, the most important thing is that "...they are built upon my gospel..." as Christ is telling His disciples of old.

In my pondering this week I was asked what or where I would be if I didn't have such conviction.  What if?  What if Adam and Eve had never repented?  What if Seth had not been righteous, Enoch not willing to lead, Noah did not build an ark, Abraham did not seek the truth of his fathers, or Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and so many more did not do what they had done.  Where would we be?  Where would I be?

It has given me much to think about.  It has reminded me how grateful I am that they did do, that I have a knowledge of their works, and that I have access to living prophets today to help me gain further knowledge.  I know that I am not perfect, but I am striving to improve.  I do know that I am a child of God, that Jesus Christ is my brother and gave Himself that I might have the opportunity to live in the presence of my Eternal Father once more.  I have received this witness and move forward in faith that I might be worthy of such.

I encourage you to seek this knowledge for yourself.  I hope that you have been able to study, ponder, and start applying the message from Elder Stevenson this week.  That you might make those changes in your lives that will bring Light not Darkness.  Changes that will bring you out from the shadows and into the warmth of the Light of Christ.  This is my prayer.

Our Week -

It has been an interesting one.  The Queen has had a miserable week.  This procedure has put her down hard, but she is tough and keeps moving forward.  She has had hours of ice, sleep, broth, pudding, discomfort and hallmark.  It is getting old.  She wants to be done with it.  Here is to a better week to come.

The Professor and I went back to work like the rest of most people.  It was an adjustment after being off for so long.  We continue to make little adjustments to the routine.

Tall Man and Ehl-Bo returned to work as well.  They are digging into a new production, just from different perspectives, and getting ready for a new semester.

Puddin and Lady Hawkins came back from their adventures late Monday.  Then they continued their road home on Tuesday and returned to the working class on Wednesday.  They will add their return to the classroom tomorrow as well.

Life is back to being busy.  Together, we will make it work.
