Making the Choices, everyday, everyday, everyday

Happy Sabbath!

It has been a wonderful day so far.  I hope that yours is being just as wonderful.

I am going to jump right in, there is so much on my mind that I probably won't even get to it all in this post.

First - for priesthood this week, we have been preparing for the lesson by studying  President Nelson's talk during Saturday Evening Priesthood Session.  He talked about Repentance.  I know I talk about it a great deal, but it was pointed out again today how wonderfully Satan has put a negative stigma around this word "Repentance".  So many people associate it with negative, when it fact it should be more a positive.

We repent every day in our jobs, our school, our lives.  Every time we try something different, we are repenting of what we used to do.  As long as those changes lead to better results than the results we were having, we are repenting for the good.  Good leads us to God.  That is a good thing not a negative thing.

Note: when we make these changes it is not always easy.  We must remember to focus on progressing with the end in mind.  What will the end result of the process change be?  Is it better or worse than where we were?

I encourage you to review and ponder upon his message, but let's move to the verses of pondering for this week, Ether 12:32-34

"And I also remember that thou has said that thou hast prepared a house for man, yea, even among the mansions of thy Father, in which man might have a more excellent hope; wherefore man must hope, or he cannot receive an inheritance in the place which thou has prepared."

"And again, I remember that thou hast said that thou hast loved the world even unto the laying down of thy life for the world, that thou mightest take it again to prepare a place for the children of men."

"And now I know that this love which thou hast had for the children of men is charity; wherefore, except men shall have charity they cannot inherit that place which thou hast prepared in the mansions of thy Father."

Mormon is talking about a vision of a more excellent hope; a plan, a place, a home, a mansion, life with our Father and families.  It is the vision of this dwelling that leads us to repent.  To change our lives to be worthy of such dwelling.  We must maintain Hope in that vision or our repentance is dormant.  We stop progressing to this dwelling.  Without it, we lose our inheritance.

Jesus Christ, as God the Father, sees us, knows us, and what we can become.  He loves us so much that through this vision, he was willing to lay down his life in our behalf to prepare a place for us to dwell.  He was instrumental in developing and creating this plan.  He came to the earth with the vision and hope that through his works, the path would be made for us to follow.

Yet it is not all freely given.  It requires work on our part.  We much learn from his example, from our personal choices, through our hope for better, to love has he loves - obtaining charity.  Hoping to obtain charity, that we will be worthy to inherit that place.

Repentance is not easy.  Repentance is not impossible.  Repentance is not negative.  Repentance is a progress of Hope, Faith, and Charity.  It is the small and simple changes we make every day to be better than we were the day, the minute, the moment we were before.  It is the choices we make, everyday, everyday, everyday.

Our week -

It has been busy, busy, busy.  Every little change the Queen and I make leads to more change in another areas.  There has been a great deal of change and movement in the house.  It was Marvelous to take moment or two on Tuesday with SnackPack to help prepare him for the Endgame.  Work has been crazy.  Spring cleaning and de-cluttering seem to only be piling higher and higher in the RV pad.

The Professor has had several busy events as well.  Not only did she spend the week testing, but she has been asked to plan a regional Relief Society Event for the YSA that is keeping her mind busy outside the classroom. Her little peeps also competed in district debates this week that kept her out and about later than normal.

Tall Man continues to look for employment.  He has dropped in here and there between interviews this week.  Though we are not happy he is un-employed, we are happy that he was available to help remove our backyard fence that was falling down so it could be replaced this weekend.  It was nice to visit with him, even if it was only on short resting periods.

Puddin and Lady Hawkins dropped by late last night.  They were up early and on the road again this morning.  We hope to see them again later this afternoon. Lady Hawkins is moving into finals week and they are both preparing for the transition a little further south than they currently reside.

SnackPack is also moving into finals week.  As he does so, he has summer sales on his mind.  He knows he is going to be gone all summer and wants to do all he can with those here before he leaves next Friday.  One of his companions who will be joining him on the adventure left yesterday to get a jump on the summer.   We are hoping for great success from both of them.
