We just Move Forward in Faith
Good Morning Friends/Family/Unknown -
It has been a good week, for me anyway. I know that some are struggling and trying to figure out the next step on the plan. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Yep, that is a teaser.
What is on your mind? What questions have you asked yourself this week? What thoughts or impressions have weighed heavy upon your minds? What answers have you received?
As I pondered many things this week, I am so grateful for the window of personal revelation that has filled me with light. I have not received all the answers. I don't know everything. But I can say without doubt or question that I have received this week. For this I am grateful.
Ether 12:22 -
"And it is by faith that my fathers have obtained the promise that these things should come unto their brethren through the Gentiles; therefore the Lord hath commanded me, yea, even Jesus Christ."
"And I said unto him: Lord, the Gentiles will mock at these things, because of our weakness in writing; for Lord thou has made us mighty in word by faith, but thou has not made us mighty in writing; for thou has made all this people that they could speak much, because of the Holy Ghost which thou has given them;"
"And thou hast made us that we could write but little, because of the awkwardness of our hand. Behold, thou hast not made us mighty in writing like unto the brother of Jared, for thou madest him that the things which he wrote were mighty even as thou art, unto the overpowering of man to read them."
"Thou has also made our words powerful and great, even that we cannot write them; wherefore, when we write we behold our weakness, and stumbling because of the placing of our word; and I fear lest the Gentiles shall mock at our words."
I totally get Mormon as I pondered these verses this week. Where should I being.
Mormon did not know all things. He was sitting in a temple, a cave, or a tent reading and sifting through hundreds of years of histories. Some of it impressed him greatly, writings of the brother of Jared, and others, not so much. But one thing is for sure, all the men and women who recorded these histories he was reading had one thing in common, FAITH. They did not know all things. They did not understand all things. They had questions. They were sometimes confused. There were times they thought their loved ones were changing through the repentance process and prepared for greater things, but when greater things were given, they saw their loved ones falter because the things were too great. So they tweaked the way things were being done in hopes their loved ones would slowly prepare for the next level.
Over time, they realized that there would always be some who would falter/stumble and not get back up. It was their faith and trust in the Lord that as long as they remained faithful and shared their testimonies, some day their loved ones would find their way back home.
Mormon had this faith. I know that I sit here writing these words, I have faith that my words will do some good, if not today, in some future day. It is very obvious to me, as I am mocked by my children, that I am weak in writing. I cannot always articulate the power thoughts and impressions I am feeling as the words of the spirit course through my heart and mind. Even in my personal histories I am mock, but I continue in faith. That is what we are asked to do.
Last night, President Nelson reminded us that no matter where we are on or off the covenant path, we have need of repenting every day. Repenting in a positive way, not a negative way. Repentance is healing. Satan tries to make it a punishment. He reminded us that we are not asked to be perfect, but continually striving for improvement. We are ask to repent by becoming a little better today than we were yesterday. I pray that we will all work on that.
Our week -
It has been pretty normal around here. This week was the first time I in a while that I have been home every day. It was refreshing in many ways and stressful in others as things at work were crazy.
It was wonderful to be able to see the Queen on and off of our breaks through out the day and then work on things round the house together. Yep, things happened. Lights burned out, dryers died, faucets leaked, and the lawn needs to be mowed. We are tackling them one at a time.
The Professor made it through another week. It has been exciting to see her receive light and understanding in her own personal/professional pursuits this week as well.
Tall Man and Ehl-Bo have had a rough week. I don't know why. I don't have all the answers. I only know that we just have to keep moving forward. Tall Man is in search of another great job, he loved the one he had, but due to downsizing and restructuring he was laid-off. Prayers and support are greatly appreciated.
Puddin and Lady Hawkins dropped in last weekend for a brief family gathering. Their lives are filled with question as well. Lady Hawkins has been accepted to two different programs. They are feeling pretty confident about which path to follow, but the change of it all is always humbling. They currently love what they are doing and where they are at, but know that they have to move on for greater things.
SnackPack was able to free himself from a hefty burden this week. It was make the weekly school routine a little more challenging, but he will figure it out. The Queen and I helped him pack up his belongings and transport them back here to base camp until he starts his next adventure in the middle of May.
