Lawn Care
Why is taking care of one's yard so challenging. I just came home from a long day at work, I experienced several challenges, tackled a few, enjoyed a wonderful dinner with my family, change a flat tire on my bike, and then looked in the backyard. The lawn was over taking the peach trees. If Roxy ventured past the cement patio, she would be lost from sight. I knew that I needed to do it, but it just is not fun. I completely understand how my boys feel when they are asked to mow. I have been doing it since I was 10. I remember how I felt when my father asked me to mow. That feeling does not go away. It is just one of those things that has to be done.
So here I sit, adding comments to our blog, sweating like a pig, and dreaming of Fall weather that might be a little bit cooler. I can hear the engines of neighborhood mowers. I wonder if they have the same feelings. It is done, it has been a good day, and I now need to start looking towards the next.
