1 Nephi 1:1 (part 2)The second reference to being a good parent says "loving favor over silver and gold" What kind of parents were they? Did they get frustrated when Laman and Lemuel? Do you think they ever raised their voices? I am trying to figure out how I can be better in this area. It is not easy. I spend a great deal of time on my knees asking for guidance and understanding. As I have listened to talks from the Apr. 08 General Conference, there is talk about being better parents and children. As I listen to and read this talk, I am led to believe that loving favor takes more than just one person. We need to see this loving favor from all parties involved. Laman and Lemuel were given everything they needed. What did they want, MORE. They were not willing to give back. I think this is important to note. They were not upset about leaving Jerusalem, but upset that they were leaving their inheritance behind. What kind of inheritance is worth more than silver and gold? I am making it a matter of prayer, how about you?
