Yep, two posts

I know that you have already received one post today, but that one was just to make up for the one that you did not receive over the weekend. So, here I am again.

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend. Ours was full of activities. The boys had flag duty on Saturday morning. I picked up a shift at the temple. Simeon continues to collect for his project. We have one or two more weeks before we will be able to see the inside of the garage. He done and impressive job collecting. I know that driving around each Saturday morning seems fruitless, but by the end of the day, someone brings something by.

Sunday was just a nice day. Tenor man had a youth council meeting. The Queen and I went to a temple devotional at the tabernacle. And we all went to church. It was a good day.

Sister Snow shared her favorite story about the temple. She explained that as a youth, she lived about 1 block from the St. George Temple. She reminisced about the special memories of just being able to escape to the temple. She knew it was special, but it took a story from her father to help her truly appreciate how special it was.

At one point her parents were guides at the temple. In those days, the visitor center was very small and right next to the temple. They did not have enough missionaries to cover the entire grounds, so they had sensors on all of the gates that would signal when someone came onto the grounds.

One afternoon her father was on duty when there was suddenly a long series of Ding, Ding..Ding, Ding..Ding, Ding..Ding, Ding...etc. It was ringing so many times that he thought maybe a tour bus must have stopped by. He straightened his tie and went out to meet the crowd. When he rounded the corner, there was a small 10 year old boy jumping back and forth through the gate.

You can imagine the thoughts that were going through her father's head. As he approached the gate, the little boy stopped and said, "Hey Mister, did you know that it feels better on this side than it does on that side?"

The temple, the grounds, the thought is a sacred place. We need to go there more, more often.
