So, by now, I am hoping you have all had time to read the verse from the card. What goes through your mind?

Do you know that he is there? Do you hear him knocking? Or are the sounds of the world blocking him out?

I have been pondering this verse. I have been wondering how I can be better prepared to hear his knock. Am I listening to hear his voice? Will I open the door?

We were reminded again this weekend how we can tune ourselves to the sound of his voice, the knocking on the door. We had the opportunity to hear from President Uchtdorf. He shared 3 things with us.

1- Be worthy of a temple recommend. If you can, hold a current temple recommend. He used some great analogies. I loved his comments. To the youth, he talked of CTR, choosing the right. To the adults, he talked of CTR, current temple recommend. They both lead us to the same place.

2-Study the word of God. What does the Lord tell us in this verse. If we hear his knock and voice, if we open the door, he will come in and sup with us. We just need to open the door, the scriptures, to sup with him. As we do so, he will sup with us.

3- Pray. He is knocking. He is calling. He wants to communicate with us. We need to let him know that we want to do the same thing. Speak to him, often.

This young bishop was doing these things. He wanted was now being an instrument in the hands of the Lord, knocking, calling out, seeking to share the feast of the Lord. Sometimes, there is no answer. What do we do? What does the Lord do?

Have you tried knocking? feasting? kneeling? praying?

...to be continued...
