Times Two

We had a wonderful opportunity this evening.  The missionaries needed to be fed.  Having them share our table and the spirit the brought with them was very nice.  We had a wonderful dinner conversation.  We talked about miracles.  They see them every day.  We learned that we have the opportunity to see them as well, we just have to open our eyes.  There are miracles happening all around us.  Thanks for sharing.

After the missionaries all departed and went their separate ways, I found that I needed moment or two to unwind from the days events.  I sat down and read about "The King of the Birds".  It was a pleasant little story.

Brother Bear and Brother Wolf were walking in the woods when then heard the strong song of the bird king resonating through out the woods.  This was intriguing to Brother Bear.  He had never seen a king, nor a king's house and wanted to do so.  Brother Wolf cautioned him to wait until the king and queen were gone.  The approached the home of the king and waited.

When the king and queen were gone, Brother Bear commented on how common the queen appeared and felt that the king had married beneath himself.  He was also amazed that such a small bird, the wren, could be considered king.  He then climbed the tree to view the home of the king.  It was nothing to write home about.  It appeared to be a clod of dried mud mixed with straw.   To top it off there were five ugly, featherless, hatch lings with bulging eyes and large obnoxious mouths in the home.

The observations made by Brother Bear offended the children of the king.  They would not eat or drink until Brother Bear was punished and came to apologies.

This all let to a war between the four legged beasts and the winged creations of God.   It was an interesting story.  The winged ones won in the end and the king proved himself to be a king.

So, what did I learn.

Your palace is what you make it, not what others think of it.  It does not matter the size, the material, or the beauty there of, it is all about what the king, the queen, and the prince and princess' make it.

Mates choose each other based the qualities they seek, not the qualities of other in the world.

The king will and should do all to defend the honor and name of his family.  No matter the size of the battle or the odds of winning, if done in righteousness, he will prevail in the end.

Find the story for yourself and see what applies to you.
