Wow, what a week
It has been another crazy week in our neck of the woods. There are some days that I just don't know how we make it.
The Queen has been battling her body all week long. Just when she thinks she is getting better, something else happens that sets her back a few steps. But she just keeps plugging along. It is not always fun, pain free, or paradise, but it will be worth it in the end.
Professor Mcgonogall has had a challenging week as well. I don't think she is fully 100%, but is getting better. She finally felt like she could get back into her normal routine, if you can call it normal, on Thursday or Friday. To make the week more challenging, one of her associates lost a family member. Most days have been drag herself out of been, force herself to go to work, come home early, change in to PJs and go to bed as early as possible without feeling guilty. This week will be even more challenging as she meets with parents all evening on Wednesday and Thursday.
Puddin had great week, of sorts. Some of it was exciting, some was depressing, and then there were lots of surprises. Tuesday evening he completed his final hours of driving and then learned that he has festival next week at the same time he had arranged a road test with the DMV. Wednesday, we scrambled to find another place to do the road test. He did well. Thursday we took the results to a hidden DMV and he was given an official piece of paper. From there we flew to region church ball, where they played against his side kick's ward and little brother. It was an intense game. Friday was a sound check at 430 pm for region battle of bands, polo game at 615 pm, and then back to the battle of the bands where "What We Are" took second place and move on two state. Saturday was filled with polo.
Snack Pack has been crazy busy as well this week. Early morning practices are kicking all of our behinds. He continues to do after school practice for an hour before going to work. Wednesday night he went to support the JV team in this weeks tournament and missed out on the ugly sweater karaoke night for mutual. I was able to find a really ugly sweater that allowed me to tie for first place. I will have to see if I can find a picture of it some where.
Thursday night he also attended the region game. Though his team won, he was not impressed with the results and feelings that came with the game. They were down by 10 at the end of the third quarter and did really well to overcome. With 45 seconds left in the game, the were ahead by 1. A member of the other team started became more vocal in his foul language and was given a technical. This caused the parents of said member to become a little more vocal and were on the edge of being asked to leave the building. This is just not what you want to see, hear, or feel in a church. It was not pleasant. I agree with him, if that is the way the games are going to be, it just is not worth it.
Anyway, it meant that they were now advancing to the next level, game time Saturday at 930am. Snack Pack and Puddin would not be able to attend due to other commitments to polo. When I talked to them about it, they were not sad. The whole intensity of the ball game bothers them. Snack Pack said some things to Puddin's side kick about her brother, which upset her. So now, side kick's brother is upset, because his team lost the game, makes it awkward for side kick and Puddin, side kick is upset because of Snack Pack's comments, makes it awkward for Snack Pack, Puddin, and side kick. The team is upset because Snack Pack and Puddin won't make it to the game on Saturday. Snack Pack is upset because of the way he felt after game. What a mess.
Friday was focused on work and the first real game of the season for the polo team. They did not do as well as they wanted, the team has a bunch of nubes, and they are struggling coming together. It was not the way we wanted or expected the evening to go.
Saturday, Snack Pack and Puddin had a game bright and early. Snack Pack then completed his final drive and went back to play another game of polo. None of the games went well. They have a great deal of work head of them, but it will all be good.
Saturday night Snack Pack, Professor Mcgonogall, and the Queen met me for a family gathering in Clinton. It was B masters birthday celebration. Everything was centered around snakes and Indiana Jones. It was fun. While we were there, Snack Pack learned that the ward won their game and are advancing in region play. The other team did not show up. So now we have something else to do on Tuesday after the polo game. CRAZEEEE!
That is our life in a clip. I have pictures, but don't know if I am allowed to post them without permission. I will get permission first and then post. Have a great week!
