Riding the Wakes of Other's Adventures
Another week down. We barely made it through while the Queen was out on adventures, but last night, just before I completely dozed off, we were all accounted for. It is good to know that all are alive, safe, and mentally stable for the most part.
As I mentioned, the Queen was pulled into the office early Monday morning and asked if she would be willing to start her adventure earlier in the week. Evidently, one of the other facilitators was hospitalized in C-town and they needed her now. We consulted a little and she said yes. Came home at the end of her work day, packed and took care of other Motherly tasks, before jumping on a plane Tuesday morning and teaching into the wee hours of the morning Wednesday. When she returned yesterday afternoon, we are happy to report that it was indeed a great adventure. Now she is preparing to move on to the next.
While the Queen was out, the Professor and I did our best to hold down the fort. I am grateful for her willingness to assist. There were several moments in the week that I would not have been able to accomplish all that needed to be done without her assistance. We will see how the coming weeks go now that she is returning to the classroom after a mini off-track period. We are also glad to report that Hagrid survived the period living on Magna water.
Puddin has had an incredibly full week. School is always part of the mundane of his life. He is counting down the days to end that adventure and move on to the next. On Monday evening, we attended Green Sheets. The Pirates did really well. Awards were given to Best Supporting Actor and Actress in a Musical, Best Actor in a Play (the curly headed kid Puddin hangs with), and many others. However, the most important was Best Actor in a Musical, Tom (Puddin) Sawyer.
From there it was all about tossing a ball around the pool and the dinner show. I don't think he was home more than 30 minutes at any given time. Well I guess he slept in the house, but that was about it.
SnackPack was just as busy. He had to throw in his cleaning responsibilities at the school, but it was just as busy. Regional Conference at the Kearns complex did not go the way anyone expected, but we don't want to focus on the short comings. We would rather focus on the great improvement this group has made as team. They came together, increased their skills, taught some new ones, and planted seeds for the future. The most exciting news from his cage is that last night he found out he made one of the All-Conference teams.
We have all had some great successes to celebrate this week. One of the leaders of today's mind craft world was baptized on Saturday. I had a moment to talk to him about the postcard he received. He thought it was cool. I let him know that I don't even get postcards, so that must mean he is high in the priority list there.
I don't know what else we can share. I heard rumor this week that Elder C and Sister P are soon to become Brother and Sister C, next month to be exact. They wasted no time in moving forward. The 201 is down to single lanes for the summer on the most important stretch in our lives. 8400 and 3500 are getting a complete makeover. Ice Cream has been very hard to find in that last few months. Hopefully that will change soon.
