Special Dinner Guest

Well my friends, let's get this weekly update rolling.  It is coming a little bit later in the day than normal, but I am sure you will hardly notice the difference.

It continues to be Spring here.  I don't know if Mother Nature knows it yet.  One day we are hot and dry, the next it is raining and cold.  The boys spent their first day on the stands getting wetter than those in the pool.  SnackPack is convinced he was on the verge of getting frost bite.  They did end up closing the pool down about 3 hours early.  Guess what happened after they closed?  Yep, the sun came out and people were probably lining up to swim.

Puddin spent the week doing his best to cross his Ts and dot his Is.  I thought we had more time, but evidently the teachers want to have all the work turned in 2 weeks before school is actually out.  It will all work out.  He has read some good books, learned a great deal about public education, and the importance of have good answer keys.  It has been extremely frustrating for all of us.  We will see what the coming week brings us.

The Professor is in a state of Awe.  Why you ask?  Because this three day weekend is an AWESOME break this time of year.  She will have to go back to the grind on Tuesday and figure out what to do with her little rascals for the rest of June.  She had made it through most of the CORE curriculum, but still has 5 weeks of school to teach.  She will figure it out.

SnackPack said his good byes to the elementary on Friday.  Tom was sad to see him go.  In fact, he told him he could keep working for extra cash as long as he wanted.  I think the truth of the matter is that he knew he was losing a good worker.  There were also several teachers that were sad to see him go.  I hope they find a good replacement.

The Queen has just been busy.  She has been a little confused about some of the messages sent to her at work, but is taking it one day at a time.  People at headquarters are wanting to see better number and think that they know how to change them.  I think they are whacked in the head, but who am I.  She has been patient and willing to do what they need.  I think they just need to get their act together and realize what the real problem is.

We had a wonderful dinner guest this evening.  Wish we had had the company of the entire family around when it happened.  Grandma S. brought in single Uncle from the North.  I think it might have been the first time Puddin and SnackPack remember meeting him.  He is retired now.  Sold all but on of his bars, and it is one that he has never worked in.  He owns a large apartment complex and manages an event center.  That keeps the bills paid while he plays golf.  He is renting his new home on the coast and living in one of the apartments in the complex.  SnackPack envies him.

Hope this post finds you all well.  Have a great week!
