Just an update
Howdy,
I just came home from visiting a family in our ward. Their home teacher had called to see if I could come over and help him administer to them. They live just around the corner from me. It was a nice walk from my house to theirs. As I rounded the corner, I found them all out on the front porch visiting in lawn chairs. Can you believe that? Here it is, the 7th of December, and we were visiting on the front steps. None of us had on jackets. Their grand kids were running around the front yard without any shoes on. I hate to ask, but where is winter?
It did rain most of the day on Wednesday, but nothing major. By the time Thursday rolled around, we were back to the unseasonably warm weather. Not that I go out much any more that I am working from the house, but it is kind of weird.
It has been a good week. We have all been busy. We have faced our challenges with hope and prayer. And though the answers have not all come in the fashion we want or expect, the answers have come. We are blessed. I took the opportunity this week to watch "He is the Gift" this week. If you have not had the opportunity, tune into LDS.org or Mormon.org and watch it. As you do, think about what you can give back to Him, not only during the season, but throughout the year. I have been pondering it all week. Set the goal, make it a priority, and give.
We kept up the tradition of sharing our home this weekend. Last week it was Kala, this weekend it has been K.C. The others were much calmer with her presence than they were with Kala. The Queen and I also had the opportunity to Sue and Gus. They had their walking companion stretched from one end of the block to the other. I told Puddin that he should make so more time to get stretched.
The Queen has been busy training and scheduling training. She enjoys doing it from home. I have a feeling it is going to get a little crazy around here in the next couple weeks as she tries to juggle all the assignments. She never knows what tomorrow is going to bring her. If you had asked me on Wednesday, I would have told you she was going to be in C-Town for the weekend, but then that changed because she was needed more here than there. They keep her running. Then she fills her nights with projects for the upcoming holiday.
Our Professor is filling more of her nights with visits and projects. Tis the season. I guess I should get in on the fun. I will work on it. Anyway, our Professor is staying busy. I have feeling she is counting down the days to Christmas as much as her class is, just for different reasons.
We have not seen much of Tall Man this week. He spent the week down south because he did not have a mode of transportation. He just carpooled with friends. We were able to get his mode into the shop on Wednesday and give it back to him on Friday. He is grateful for the freedom, but not happy about the hole it made in his pocketbook.
Puddin has been doing his best to remain busy. Projects at work come and go. He has found little things to keep him going when it is slow and I understand he has also had the chance to observe several performances. He enjoys the sounds they make for the most part. We seem to get something new every week for him from the T.M.M., Texas McAllen Mission. He receives them with the expected mixed emotions.
SnackPack continues to burn candles. We have officially entered the performing season. It does not seem to be as big as it has been in years past, but there is something almost every day. Today, Fast Sunday, was one of his first days off. I don't think we will see many more of those.
I hope that all is well with each of you. You are in our thoughts always.
