Post Holiday Post
Another week has come and gone. It appears that the year is trying to do the same thing. We have finally spent the past few days in the 20's. Projections are that we will be in the teens next week. We have a small dusting of snow on the ground now, but no more in the forecast for the next 10 days. It is supposed to be back up into the 40's by next weekend. With that being said, the inversion is starting to settle into the valley. That is the only bad part about the cold.
The Queen and I are back to work next week. I am ready. It has been a long week. Though I have not been completely idle, I have had enough. The Queen on the other hand would like a few more days. She spent the first few days of the week getting ready for Christmas and now feels like she has only had a few days of relaxing.
The Professor is doing her best to enjoy the time off. She had to work right up until Christmas Eve last week and now wants to enjoy a little time of R and R. We will see how much she gets with the Queen and I working. I am sure she will figure it out with ear plugs and an eye mask.
Tall Man has not really stopped. He had Christmas off, but has worked every other day of the week. I don't know what his schedule is like next week. I am sure he will let us know soon. He continues to pursue a pad of his own or one he can share with buddies closer to work. He has high hope for prospects in the coming weeks.
Puddin worked the first couple days and was told to enjoy the holidays. He has done his best. He has spent the past few days playing with all the ties, white shirts, and slacks he received. It is a good thing they all fit and he looks sharp in them. We will see what the next couple of weeks bring.
SnackPack has enjoyed the age old tradition of sleeping on the couch for winter recess. I don't know why it is a tradition, but that is where he has been spending his nights. He even managed to sleep through the Professor working out at 4 a.m. a couple days last week when she was on and he was off.
Officially, the season has come to an end, but we don't have to let it end in our hearts. I hope that each of you will continued to follow that examples given from our Savior, Jesus Christ. The question on my mind as of late is how do I focus on building the kingdom instead of letting the distractions of the world deter me? It happens one brick or stone at a time. I invite each of you to continue placing bricks and stone in the wall of God's kingdom, whether that be with Scripture Study, Pray, Leaps/Steps of Faith, or just plain only open and honest communication with your Heavenly Father. Go to the temple often. Seek Him in all that you do. Focus on the ONE, then move on to the next.
Have a great week and welcome the New Year with safety.
