Have You Inquired?

Here we are again, another week as passed us by.  Was it productive?

I think mine was productive.  I don't know how much my mind has been on my scripture of the week, but it has been thinking one a spiritual note.  Let's start with the verse and then we will go from there.

Genesis 1:30-31...This verse has two powerful messages for me.

1 - "...to EVERY..."  He says this 5 times in these verses.  And what does He say?  "...I have GIVEN..."  The Lord has provided all for us.  There is more than what we need here upon the earth.  It is those who are caught up in pride that seem to gather or hold on to more than they need.  Think about that.

2 - "...God saw EVERY thing that He made, and behold, it was very good."   He did not make anything that was not good.  We all have value and worth.  It is the choices that we make when giving into the adversary or natural man that change the goodness.  Going back to 1, He as also give us a provision for those weaknesses.  He has given us much.

Just a quick thought.

Now, I was out and about this week.  When I came home late Thursday night, we were asked to speak in Sacrament Meeting today.  It has given me much to think about.  Among those thoughts, I dwelt on Prayer.

While watching a movie this weekend, there was this person who was stuck in space.  He was desperate.  He was 90 years from his final destination and 30 years from where he started.  He wanted to send a plea for help to those he left in the home base.  After recording his plea, he hit send and was informed that it would be received in 19 years and that the approximate time to receive a response back would be 36 years.  So he should have his answer in 55 years.  Can you imagine waiting that long for answer from our Father?

As I pondered this thought, I sometimes lament that I have to wait a couple weeks to hear back from SnackPack.  I find myself going to the mailbox as soon as the mail truck passes my office window every Friday in hopes of having some response from him.

I started correlating the two ideas.

What kind of Plea do I send to our Father?

What kind of Conversation do I have with Him?

Writing a letter is almost like saying a prayer.  But are mine?  Do I tell Him all that I have been up to?  Do I ask Him how He as been, what He needs, or how I can help Him?  I know I would in a letter.

Do I wait with as much anticipation for a response?  Or do I trying to read between the lines and substitute my own response?

Think about that one as well.  How are your Prayers going?

There you go, two quick thoughts.

Like I said, this week has been on the go.  I started up with a follow up appointment.  Of course that leads to another and another in today's world of practicing medicine.  We will see where it goes.

Then I was off to the Windy City for a quick trip.  While I was gone, the Queen did some training, working, planning, visiting, and maintaining the home front.

The Professor returned to work after her Spring Break and continued testing.

Tall Man got a new job that starts tomorrow.

Ehl-Bo received her first paycheck.

Both of them made it through Hell week and are on to performing.

Puddin continued the grind, made a quick trip up north, and caught up with some long time friends.

It sounds like Lady Hawkins is getting ready for finals.  She was really tired this weekend.

We did not hear from Songbird this week, but we did hear that Mr. TT opened a big white envelope and will report to labor on the 12th of July.

Gram and Gramps did a 2000 mile road trip.

And the week ended.  Let's see what comes next.
