Things Which Were From the Beginning...
As I start this week's post, I want you to know that when my suggested study guide gives me a full chapter to study, I don't read it and then break it up into sections. I take just a few verses, randomly, from the chapter and focus on them. That is where I am this week. I read them over and over again throughout the weeks. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but the events of the week always seem to find meaning in accordance with the verses. I am always amazed.
These week, random as they are, D&C 76:13-15...
History: Joseph and Sidney were seeking understanding. They were translating. They were doing those things that they had been commanded to do. Because of their obedience, desire, and action they were given enlightenment by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I have pondered these words several times this week. I understand that things that were ordained of God were revealed unto them. They saw "...things which were from the beginning, before the world was, which were ordained of the Father, through his Only Begotten Son..."
Once they saw, the bore record of it.
Today, I had the opportunity to participate in the Re-dedication of the Jordan River Utah Temple. As I listened to the words spoken, the experiences shared, the witnesses born, I was filled with enlightenment. I realized that in the Holy Temple, I have also had these visions opened up to me. I have seen the Father's plan presented before me. I understand things as they were from the beginning. I have seen and know that through the Only Begotten Son, these things have been brought to pass. It is through the fullness of his gospel that we are able to obtain heavenly visions.
They all culminate to His Holy Houses.
I am grateful for the testimonies that were born. I am eternally grateful for the witness I was personally able to receive. I find myself recommitted to doing more, making more time to do more, and/or making the sacrifices of other things to do more. I was able to envision with President Eyring the morning of the first resurrection. I was able to feel the anticipation of the joy of that day. Like him, I am not sure what it will all entail, but I know that it will be glorious and joy filled.
Our week has been a little different -
The Queen's routine was changed a little this week. The Windy City is in the final stages. She was asked to work through the weekend, as some of the other trainers are returning back to their respective duties and stations. Late Friday night, she learned that there were not enough people scheduled to hold classes on Saturday. She spent the day trying, really trying to find things to do. Then just after the last flight of the night departed Saturday night, she learned that all classes on Sunday were also going to be cancelled. Unfortunately, flights today have been crazy full, so it has been a typical travel day of craziness. We think she will be here soon. But then she has a full 5 days off before heading back East to train in Newark.
The Professor has been crazy busy wrapping up this school year as the different tracks are ending their year. They have to plan together before some of them are off for the next several weeks. There are retirements, graduations, and more to plan for. Then she is getting ready to start her final semesters of Masters program in a couple weeks.
Tall Man and Ehl-Bo are wrapping up another show. Ehl-Bo is prepping to show her wares at a RAW Artist show next week.
Puddin and Lady Hawkins are suffering the dregs of long work days, high gas prices, and dental work. It all sounds like so much fun.
Me? I just hang out and do what I am asked to do.
Love you all...
