Exquisite - Can you taste the sweetness?
Greetings -
Here I am trying to get into a routine. The problem I have found is that when I write this post early and then publish it later, it does not seem to seen notifications to all who follow. Therefore, it looks like I will need to switch to Saturday post for a while. I cannot always promise that I will be consistent, but I will try.
Let's start with the pondering: Alma 36:20-21
"And oh, what joy, and what marvelous light I did behold; yea, my soul was filled with joy as exceeding as was my pain!"
"Yea, I say unto you, my son, that there could be nothing so exquisite and so bitter as were my pains. Yea, and again I say unto you, my son, that on the other hand, there can be nothing so exquisite and sweet as was my joy."
Isn't this so true? We live in a mortal world that is filled with sorrow, pain, joy and sweetness. Sometimes it is self inflicted and other times it is a result of others choices. But the promise is that no matter how painful, how sorrowful, how overwhelming this life may be, regardless of where the pain and sorrow come from, the promise of Jesus Christ, through his Atoning sacrifice is the same to us as it was to Alma the Younger.
We can have joy. We can have peace. We can taste the sweetness of redemption, if we will but seek him, follow him, and obey him.
Like Alma, we to must do something. The questions to all is - what is it that we are doing?
There is where I will stop.
Our week -
It has been a crazy week. I have presided my first funeral. I have had several hospital wellness checks, and have been overwhelmed with mourning with those who mourn. On the flip side, I have been able to sing with those who sing and play with those who play. It has been a roller coaster of events.
The Queen has been blessed in so many ways. The company pushed back her training assignment, that allowed her to be home this week. She found a last minute substitute, and is now filling the past few days with baking, cooking, and cleaning. We are excited for 1st Thanksgiving.
The Professor has been overloaded with STEM reviews. Need I say more? Additionally, she has been attending professional development courses.
Tall Man and Ehl-Bo have been busy this week. I think Tall Man is looking forward to a small break next week. We haven't seen them since Saturday, but look forward to seeing them today.
Puddin is working hard to complete the next level of interviews. Lady Hawkins is filling every moment of every day with school and work. I don't know when she sleeps.
SnackPack has been North, South, North and back again. I don't know when he sleeps. He goes in early and comes home late. Testing continues to figure things out. And this morning he finds himself rock'n in Old Mill Town. We look forward to hearing about his adventure.
