A Week of Supposed Refresh
I believe this week I will have to pass the post through my editor before publishing. I am being told I am too cryptic. I did not think so. I felt it was a good source of conversation. If you are reading and really want to know what is going on and can't figure out the message, then you will talk to me about it. The editor does not think so.
It has been another week of ups and downs. We thought it would be rather quiet on the home front, but as it turned out, it was just another crazy week full of events. Even our menu planning was shot to heck. I am not sure we made more than 1 or 2 items on the menu this week.
As mentioned last week, we sent Puddin and SnackPack off to the wild blue yonder. Though they had hands on communication, I think we heard from them maybe a total of 3 times throughout the week. We know they were doing their best to have fun and keep pace with the rest of the tour group.
On Saturday night, they returned home safe and somewhat sound. The were ready to get off the bus and interested only in showers with real water pressure and their own beds. We started hearing from them about half way through their bus ride home. That communication would be part of the 3 times throughout the week. They wanted to make sure we were there to pick them up.
From all reports, they seemed to have enjoyed themselves, spent money, made memories, and kept their stomachs full for the most part. There was time spent training monkeys, riding pennies, and protecting the unknowing public from losing themselves to the overwhelming power of green light.
After the boys left, the Queen turned her focus to Etiquette Dining and Camp. Two things that are coming upon us all too quickly. The dinner was first. She planned an superb dinner, had presenters in place, and backing from many areas. Then it all fell apart with two major basement floodings and sick children. She was a trooper and pulled it off any way. We hope the youth were able to take something from it that will be useful. The turnout was rather small, but that is what happens in the summer.
Her next focus is Camp. We will see how that goes. She has yet to get the time covered and we are in the final countdown. Less than 10 days and counting quickly.
The Professor kept herself busy with work. In her spare time, she designed a new running shirt and crafted with friends.
She is also in the final countdown. 14 days and counting. At that point, this years adventure ends and she starts regrouping before the next one begins. It will be interesting to see how fish play into the new one.
The Crazy Cruisers made it home without many hitches. It was good to see them. We visited briefly while the picked up the hounds. It sounds like they had a great time.
We are preparing ourselves to start another great adventure this week. The boys are back at work, summer is upon us, and we will chart new territory before the week is out. It will be a grand adventure. We look forward to seeing what it brings.
