Week of Learning Adventures

So where do I begin this week.  I have learned so much about so many people, about so many things, and so many places.  Where do I being?

I have already been commenting about the passing of my dear Aunt.  I could probably go on with several more posts.  Who knows, maybe I will later, when my mind is full.  Then today we had an interesting conversation in Young Mens'.  We were talking about Keys and why we have them, where they come from, and how to use them properly.  Suddenly our conversation was talking about church discipline and all the media that is out there about people, their choices, understanding, belief, and acting upon those beliefs that does not follow an order.  At one point I felt like maybe the adult leaders in the room were having the discussion or educating other adult leaders in the room, but the young men were just kind of there.  I tried to bring it into focus/application for the young men.  I don't know that all of them got it, but I tried.

Let's say that P was called to be President of his group.  He accepted, was sustained by all the members of his group, and then set apart and given Keys.  Over the course of several months, one of the members of that group, E,  felt that P was not running the group the way it should be.  He was not planning activities the way E felt he should.  The projects they were taking on were not good enough.  In fact, E, just didn't want to be there anymore when P was in charge.

Then one night E was talking to another member of the group, B, and shared his feelings.  B could see where E was coming from to a certain extent.  He asked what E had in mind.  The presentation that was made sounded a lot more exciting.  After a while, E convinced B that neither one of them should go to any of the activities P had planned.  That would teach him.  But it was not very fun for any of them.

Later in the month, E and B went to a camp.  While there they started talking about their frustration with P.   They started telling all the other people at camp how they thought that maybe E or even his Mother could do a better job than P.  In fact, it would be better for all those at camp to come follow E, with his Mother's help, and they would have way more fun than being in the group with P or even the groups they all belonged to.

Later P, heard about what E was saying and basically said, if you don't want to be a member of our group, take part in the planning of or even participate in the activities we plan, then you can leave the group.  Well, that did not sit well with E.  He wanted to be in the group, but wanted to run it the way he or even the way he thought his Mother would run it.

Eventually, E was asked to leave the group.  When others asked if he started his own group with his Mother, they were told no, because his Mother was supporting E's father who had  asked P to be the President in the first place.

Short of it, lots of crazy things going on in the world and I have not even started my update yet.

Next thing I learned, pray is direct communication with our Heavenly Father.  He listens, He answers, and when He feels important to act, He does.

Puddin and SnackPack came home from tour.  Puddin was a little stressed.  His work schedule was crazy full, even though he had requested time off during the week.  His lovely Side-Kick has been preparing to go on a big adventure for the next several months.  She was scheduled to depart on Wednesday.  He wanted to spend some time with her before she left.  I am convinced that there was a great deal of pray going on.  So, on Monday, when Puddin went to work he found out that things were messed up.  First the boiler was not working properly, so it was heating the water up to much.  This in turn caused a problem with the UV lights the helped control the chemicals in the water.  They have been working with it this way for a couple weeks now so it really was not that big of a deal.  But then someone called in and said that last Monday, they got sick in the water because the chemicals were not working properly and reported them to Health Services, who just happened to come do an inspection on Monday.  They told Puddin's boss that it all needed to be fixed and fixed now.   She said Ok, we will get someone here to fix it soon.

Then Puddin went into one of the pump rooms and saw that there was a hole in one of the pipes.  It was not just a small drip, but a full on spray of a leak.  Water was shooting everywhere, this only put more pressure on Puddin's boss and those who needed to come out and fix the boiler, UV light, and now a leak.  Maybe they would not open as early in the morning as originally planned on Tuesday.  But did I say that Puddin wanted to be with his Side-Kick all day on Tuesday?

Yep more prayer happened.  About midday, a large white bird was attracted to something on the transformer right outside the power supply room.  We don't know what it was attracted to, but it stuck it's head in a hole, hit a fuse, and exploded; the bird's head and the transformer.  Main power was destroyed and they were now on back up power.  Puddin had to call the power company, who could not come until Tuesday, and the worry was that with not proper power supply, boiler overheating, UV light, and a leak going on, maybe it would just be better to close for the entire day on Tuesday.  Thus proving my point.

I don't know if I told the story correctly, but it all sounds better when attached to prayer.

Yes they got to spend the day together, well until about 5 pm when her adventure began.

I also learned it is a small world.  Through Puddin's Side-Kick, we became better acquainted with President G in the Hunter Stake.  We have seen him and his family many times.  We share the same name and family line.  It was good to learn more about his history.

So, Puddin has had his ups and downs all week.  He has survived and will continue to survive.  He started his new calling today and learned that he has been given a second job.  He starts orientation tomorrow.

SnackPack is back in the workforce.  I am sure he would have like to have worked more this week, but because he works at the same place Puddin works, he didn't get as much time in as he would have liked.  I am sure he didn't mind as much.  Late Monday evening the weather started changing around here.  By 9 pm, we were in the 40's and it was raining.  Tuesday was crazy cold.  Grandpa G told us that the girls camp sent girls home because they got 10 inches of snow.  It rained all day Tuesday and some on Wednesday.  It was so cold that they neither SnackPack or Puddin went to work on Wednesday because the repaired boiler could not heat the water fast enough to keep up with the low temperatures.

SnackPack figured out how to occupy most of his time.  His Hula girl was on her own adventure this week, so he had to make his own adventures.  By the end of the week, the water was warm, the temperatures were back to normal, and his Hula girl was back from her adventure.  He too will survive.

The Professor had a field trip on Tuesday.  She survived as well.  She even joined us for Side Kick's adventure farewell gathering.  It has been a good week.  She did some crafting with the girls, finished some cards, went to bridal showers, designed and finished a new running shirt, went to a wedding party, and marked 5 more days of the countdown to summer freedom.

The Queen and I have just been lumps on logs.  The only excitement we have is at work.  Well, not always at work.  Wednesday we did a funeral run.  It was a long day, but full of learning and revelation.  We shared our table with Grandma S, cousin S, and little A.  It was nice to have them around a little.  On Friday, we took cousin S back to the airport so she could fly home.  It was an adventure in and of itself.  She set off the alarms with her sequined blouse, tested positive for explosives, and was give a formal TSA pat down.  The biggest concern was that they put something on her hands to test for explosives and she was afraid it would spread to other parts of her body.  What if it did not come off and would be with her forever?

It has been a crazy week.  Hope this one is not too long.  I know I have had a great deal to say this week.  I am not always this verbose.  OOH crazy new word.

Until next time.

P.S. my editor is sleeping so this is going out as is.  Hope it is OK.
