1 Nephi 7:1

This is a short verse, but it makes one wonder. How long did Lehi prophesy? What did he prophesy about? What did Nephi learn in the wilderness that he did not learn while in Jerusalem? How long did Lehi study, ponder, pray, and then prophesy in the wilderness before the Lord visited him again?

These are the questions I ask myself. Where are the recorded? What did Joseph learn from them as he translated the 116 pages of the book? Did Lehi prophesy about his children, the future, the state of Jerusalem? I wonder. I wish to know the mysteries that he learned.

Now, the Lord, through Lehi has a new mission for Nephi and his brothers. How long was it after they had returned from their first mission was it that they were asked to return? Did they go back with stronger faith? Were they listening to the teachings and prophesies of their father?

I think about how long it would take me to read the Old Testament. Then I wonder how long it would take me to study the Old Testament. Is this what Lehi did before he started prophesying? I have heard some say, yeah, but I have a job, I cannot study and read as Lehi did. He was just in the wilderness with nothing else to do. Is that true? Didn't he still have to provide for his family? He had to farm, hunt, preserve, and more to survive in the wilderness. I am sure that he had his challenges just like we do. He did it, hence, so can we.

Do you study such that you could prophesy? Think about that. Maybe we need to change the way we study.
