Mixed Bag
I begin this post with mixed emotion. I guess I could say that I have several mixed emotions, but when they all get mixed up together, it become just one lumped emotion. I don't know how to explain it. I have had it several times in my life. Sometimes it is worse than others. Each time I experience it, it is different. Today, I was released from my church calling. I was not given another to replace it. I have known about it for over a week now, but it does not make it any easier to bear.
When I came home from church at the same time as my family, they all looked at me like deer in headlights. Finally one said, "It is so weird having you home right now." Yeah, me too. Then they followed it up with, "You need a hobby."
So if you are seeing lots of random pintrest picks or hear me yell out random ideas...remember, you told me to start looking.
Enough of me. It has been a good week. Today, we all went to a flip side mission meeting. Boy, I thought I was being random. But it was so good. This young man stood up and just started sharing random thoughts and feelings. He did his best to follow the promptings of the Spirit. As always, I was touched. It wasn't all his words, but it was some. They started me down a path of thought and reflections. It was almost like going to a Grateful Dead concert, but with the Spirit. Each of his random thoughts and promptings were meant for someone different in the congregation. We then latched on to the thought and following our own personal promptings to where we needed them most. I was truly edified by the spirit today. I am reminded again that I need to repent and change my will, but that is another post that is brewing in my head. Thanks.
The Queen has been on vacation all week if you remember from last weeks post. She does not like these staycation things, but knows that we can't afford to do much more right now. I came home from work each day to find her working endlessly on a new project. She amazes me. I was exhausted and did not want to do much more than veg. She however, just kept going and going. There were many times she got up with me and came to bed several hours after me. I don't know where she gets her drive and energy, but I lover her for them.
The Professor is just a few days away from returning back to the grind. In fact, I don't think we will see much of her this week as her critters return to the classroom on Wednesday. The exciting news of the week from her neck of the woods is that she returned home from church today with the beginnings of permission to visit the Lord's house. We are excited with and for her. Puddin thinks she should wait for him. The discussion then went to disagreement as to which house they would choose. He suggested Lai'e. It seemed to be the only place they would make compromise for. We will see what becomes of it.
Tall Man has found new purpose in his employment. It sounds like he is really starting to enjoy the freedom and reign of this new responsibility. He brought home some pictures the other day that looks like he has a great deal to be proud of. I am impressed as always with is power of influence and impression. His light shines in so many ways.
Puddin just keeps plugging along. He has his ups and downs, but that is the way life works. We just hang on and do our best to keep our arms and legs inside the vehicle. He is trying to patiently wait for that big white envelope. It doesn't look like it will come this week. Now the questions what's next. His days at waters edge are numbered to less than 6 and he is starting to have that mixed emotion I was talking about earlier...The Unknown. We know it will come and he is willing. The waiting is just unbearable sometimes.
SnackPack does not want to admit it, but his summer days are also numbered. He is doing all he can to stretch them out as long as he can. The true sign of changing season is upon us though. He started Fall League on Thursday. It is time to start removing the summer sludge and toning up again. He is excited to back in the water instead of on the stand.
In closing this week, we had the opportunity to visit one of the Lord's remodeled homes. It was such a beautiful place to be as a family. I am reminded that I need to visit more often. Maybe that is what we should do with spare time. Thanks for making it happen. I truly enjoyed the company, even though I was not the best company to be around. I just like having you all close, hearing the chatter, and knowing you are there. Hope to keep it up.
Until next time. Have a great one and look for the mini's where ere you may find yourself. They help remind us that it is worth it.
