Happy Monday
I have had a wonderful weekend. I had the opportunity to sit that the feet of General Authorities and be instructed. I don't know that I learned anything new, but I reminded of what I should be doing and inspired to do better.
Saturday morning I had the opportunity to visit for a few brief moments with Elder Shumway and Elder Gong. It was a very short interview. They reviewed the little sheet of information they had asked me to fill out, asked me about my children, and then looked at the recommendations I had made. The question that was then asked caught me off guard. Do you believe that one of these men has more ability than the others to lift and motivate our stake from where it now? I opened my mouth, but nothing really came out. I could not nail down specifics or differences about any of the men I had recommended.
Sunday morning as I sat in the general session and listened to Elder Shumway testify of the divine power that had been shared in making the selection of a new stake president, I received my personal witness that the men called to serve were called of God. Then suddenly the question came back to my mind. The spirit whispered the answer to me.
None of these men, alone, have any special abilities to lift or motivate the stake from where it is now. They, as men called of God, will need to combined effort of all those called to serve with them. I was motivated, inspired, or what ever you want to call it, to rededicate myself to their service. In doing so, I dedicate myself to serving all those of the stake. Which really means I rededicate myself to the Lord.
My testimony has been magnified. I hope and pray that each of you will receive such witnesses in your life as well.
