The Cut of Glass

I had an interesting insight the other night while I was working at the temple. I have been thinking about it a great deal the past few days. I just want to add a disclaimer. This is just me talking, rambling, pondering, and stuff like that. This is just me thinking out loud.

Anyway, during this rotation, I have the opportunity to be assigned to the sealing rooms for a couple hours. I dressed and went upstairs. As workers, we are there to assist if there are not enough patrons to complete a sealing with the proper protocols. Therefore, if there are enough patrons, we are basically given an hour break or the opportunity to see if they need assistance in other parts of the temple. Well, I found myself not being needed in sealing nor in any other area of the temple. I took advantage of the time, read some scriptures and pondered a little.

While was in the mode of pondering I was admiring the beauty of the temple. In the Oquirrih Temple there are lots of circles. They are everywhere in the design and detail of the temple. I was looking in particular at the glass windows that separate the actual sealing rooms from the patron waiting area. The two door ways are separated by three large glass panes that have a sequence of circles cut into the edges. They caught my eye.

From a distance it is hard to tell whether they are cut into the glass or cut out of the glass, so I approached the wall for a better look. As I did so, I was thinking that they would be cut out of the glass, thus causing that portion of the wall to be a magnifying glass. I thought it would be cool to look through the magnification and look at certain parts of the room magnified.

When I arrived at the glass I learned that the circles were cut into the glass, meaning they were concave. Instead of magnifying, the view was minimized. I could see more through each circle than I could almost looking through the large pane window. Wow.

I was suddenly filled with thought. Is that what the Lord does when he looks down on us? Do we look through the magnified looking glass and only see us, now, and the eminent time? When the Lord looks through the looking glass, his view is expanded and he sees the whole picture plus some. He is able to see things that we do not see through the magnified version. I was not expecting this. I started wondering about seer stones, Celestialized earth, and more.

When we each receive our own seer stones, will they be concave? What can we learn from this? Maybe when viewing live, we need to look at it from a different perspective. We need to look out not in. Think about it.
